We used the Consumer Reports build and buy program. So we obtained an excellent price from Manchester Subaru and two other dealers. The question was would Manchester give me a fair amount for my trade and was it overall, worth driving for an hour when there are dealerships within 15 minutes of my home. I am so glad we made the trip. Jack was as nice and cordial in person as he seemed on the phone. He was attentive and helpful. he did not pressure us one little bit. Village Subaru said I had to buy that day if I wanted to keep the quoted price. Subaru of Wakefield said I couldn't take the Forester on a test drive unless i intended to buy that day (It was President's day and they thought they'd be busy, but jeesh.). Manchester's customer service was a welcome change. I was offered a generous trade amount, about 10% higher than I hoped. I was surprised because last year we bought a Chevy Traverse in Woburn for my husband using the same build and buy program. They offered us an abysmally low trade amount for his car - I think in an attempt to make up for the minimal profit made the sale. At any rate, Jack is great and the overall experience was actually pleasant! I love my new Forester and I highly recommend Manchester Subaru and Jack Berkowitz. More
I came to Manchester Subaru after a less than favorable experience at another dealership in MA. I was a little hesitant to take the trip up to to NH, but I got a great quote on an Impreza Wagon Sport. I experience at another dealership in MA. I was a little hesitant to take the trip up to to NH, but I got a great quote on an Impreza Wagon Sport. I called to say I was going up and was ready to make a deal and if they actually gave me what was quoted and fair value on my trade I was all in. Charlie was the Sales person I was paired with and I explained my poor experience with the other dealership. I was pretty familiar with the car and he took me out to look at the trim I was looking for, but he said they could order. So, we went inside and he went out to look at my trade with a couple of other folks...I got nervous, thinking here it comes, the whammy! He comes back in and brings up the fact that I had mentioned my poor experience and did not want to insult me with what they were offering. It wound up being EXACTLY what I wanted. So, my new Subie is ordered and I can't wait to get it!!! Great experience overall! More
Can't say enough about my experience with this dealer. I was in a bit of a bind for anew car; my old car had broken down on way to work, and I have 3 kids and a job to get around / to. I came close to a deal at a more local dealership, but a friend urged me to at least give Manchester Subaru a call first. So glad I did. They beat the price, and gave me a much beter financing rate on the vehicle - a '12 Outback. In addition, they did the deal over the phone, and delivered the car to mae the same day. I'm at least an hour 20 minutes Northwest from them, and they drove it all the way to my house. Customer service was terrific....I received a check-in call two days after just to see how things were going. These guys know how to do business! More
My wife's and my visit to Manchester Subaru to buy a used Forester was very pleasant because Jack Berkowitz was very friendly and easy to talk to. There was never any pressure to buy and every question we as Forester was very pleasant because Jack Berkowitz was very friendly and easy to talk to. There was never any pressure to buy and every question we asked was answered directly and to the point. We previously purchased a new Impreza from this dealer in 2008 and will buy another Subaru from them in the future when we need another car. More
Called to bring my car in a third time because it would not get out of park and move into drive. When I called I was asked if I had an appointment. I said "no, but the car finally released itself out of not get out of park and move into drive. When I called I was asked if I had an appointment. I said "no, but the car finally released itself out of park and into drive and I'm bringing it straight there before it gets stuck somewhere else again." The woman that answered the phone said "you can't do that!" My response was if you had fixed it the last two times, I would not have to..."I am bringing you the car." Then they called to tell me that my brake switch is broken again and it was covered under my extended warranty so it would only cost me $100.00. When I called in to complain that I was paying for the same part again and the car is only a 2008, John said after putting me on hold that they would only charge me the $88 for the actual repair instead of the $100.00 for my deductible. Gee, thanks so you were going to bill me $100.00 for a repair that cost $88. When I then started yelling because I recalled that I had already paid this before and they billed me the $100.00 that time because I had not complained...he said: "we are helping you and if your going to yell, I am hanging up." Raised voice mind you, I didn't swear. He hung up. But Really? You did not pay for a tow when it would not come out of park, you did not give me a loaner while you were repairing it and now I find out you billed me more then the actual cost of the repair because I have an extended warranty? I am not sure how that is helping me... but I am sure that help like that is not anything I need. So I called Ed Riley Subaru where the woman that answered the phone was so nice and after talking to her and the service department and making sure my extended warranty would work there...I have found myself a new dealership. I worked with Gary Smith to buy my STI. He was incredibly knowledgable and very courteous. I did all my negotiating over the phone and internet and through it all, Gary was great. When I went to pick up the car I was in a huge rush and he accommodated me very well. All in all it was a very positive experience and I would highly recommend working with Gary. More

I was very fortunate to have James Malone as my sales consultant. Not only did James explain the featues of the car initially but he took the time to review everything again in detail upon delivery. During the buying process we discussed pricing and the trade in but there was never and pressure for me to make a quick decision. This is the second Outback I have purchased at Manchester Subaru in 3 years and I will call James when it is time for my third. More
I had the best car buying experience ever. Most of the talk was done on the phone with Steve. The price I was quoted it was the price I paid. Upon arriving at the dealership( I was picked up personally by talk was done on the phone with Steve. The price I was quoted it was the price I paid. Upon arriving at the dealership( I was picked up personally by Steve from a bus stop) my car was ready for me. I was approved for a loan right then and there and the whole transaction took less the one hour. Signed a few documents, no hassle, no stress, no pressure. Just for the first time I really enjoyed the whole experience. I said wow! It was totally worth it to come all the way from NYC to Manchester, NH. They had the best selection and the best prices. I would 100% recommend this dealership to anyone. They even give you a full tank of gas. Very rare at these days with high gas prices. More
Dishonest person with poor business ethic. Spoke to us about another customer that had been in. Told us that he (Jack) and his manager would not sell the car to this person because he was (a very bad curs about another customer that had been in. Told us that he (Jack) and his manager would not sell the car to this person because he was (a very bad curse word that I have edited for your publication)My son, husband, and I found that to be completely innappropriate and unprofessional. Not only had Jack "pulled a fast one" on us but we have no idea if the things he told us were correct as he made his decisions (and apparently so did his manager) based on whether or not they liked you. Not selling someone a car just because (admittedly) you don't like them....isn't that discrimination? More
