See below for initial comments. After posting this I got a call from Todd. He requested an opportunity to access the problems. We made arrangements to bring the car in and Jeff did an initial perusal. He asked if we could leave it for a better assessment. They provided us a car during the 1 week process. In the end, I was given paper work (all the paper work that I initially requested) that showed they had put 4 new tires on but they found a problem in the rear end that caused the tires to wear unusually fast. They provided, at no cost, the repair and alignment and we split the cost of 4 new tires. They have submitted to Subaru the cost of our wheel barring job and E brake job for reimbursement indicating that there is a good chance that the barrings will be covered and a toss up on the E break. We have yet to see reimbursement for either but I feel I did buy the car "As Is" (I will update if we do get money back). Jeff expressed disappointment that I did not get in touch with them right at the beginning of the problems. Both Jeff and Todd were real gentlemen during this process. Based on this follow up experience I would again buy from them but make sure that everything is followed through with. Bought a used car in October. In general I was happy with the process as you can see from my Oct 16 posting. When we closed the sale I asked the sales person for a summary of the repairs that had been done for my future use. When a follow up call came from the sales mgr to see if all was good I again asked for the summary. In both cases I was assured I would get it. Never did get it. 2 weeks after I got the car a loud noise started emanating from the rear. I was told I needed wheel bearings. The mechanic said the problem had been there for a while. One of the things I also was told was that they put new tires on it. When I had service done last week the mechanic pointed out that my back tires were bald. I went to two different places for tires and both told me that I needed 4 new tires because with a 4 wheel drive they all have to match. When I told them that the dealer put new tires on the front but not on the back they indicated that a "dealer" would never have done that. What am I to believe? The reason I have not gone back to the dealer is that I signed an "As Is" agreement but now feel that they put the state inspection sticker on it so these things were the kind of things that had I needed an inspection off the street they would have told me were necessary. Will not buy or recommend to anyone the use of this dealership. Oh, and did I mention the emergency break that did not work properly that I had to replace? More
We went to Manchester Subaru because they had a good selection of inventory and were a reasonable distance from us. It was great how the employees gave us our space until we wanted help. I visited Manchester subaru with my fiance about 2 months back and a larger gentleman sitting right at the front door helped us. He then attempted to show us cars, but he really didn't know much about the specs of each car or what was what on the lot. he let us drive a car, but it was a very dissapointing experience. A good friend of mine recommended that we go back and see Steve. I went in two weeks ago and spoke with Steve Appelbe and he was just awesome! He is really friendly, honest and knows his product. I bought an Impreza from him that night. He was very busy attempting to make 3 sales at the same time, which was slightly annoying and time consuming, but it was worth it. I feel like i got a good deal for what i paid. I would like to thank Steve for giving me my FIRST good experience at a dealership and would recommend him to anyone interested in a Subaru. I traveled an hour and a half to Manachester to purchase a new Legacy because Manchester Subaru and the salesman, Mr. Joe LaBranche, were responsive to my detailed requests for information through email exc a new Legacy because Manchester Subaru and the salesman, Mr. Joe LaBranche, were responsive to my detailed requests for information through email exchanges, set forth a very good price immediately, and avoided the negotiation gamesmanship you get from many other dealers. What a breath of fresh air! My salesman, Joe LaBranche was a personable, hard-working go-getter. He is a young man with great people skills, and I was surprised to learn he had not been in the car business for long. It was interesting to hear him tell me that one of the reasons he took his position at Manchester Subaru was his own good experience in buying a vehicle there prior to working there. Joe came in on his day off to complete the paperwork and deliver our car because that was most convenient for us since I was to be in Manchester that day. I was also impressed that Joe offered to bring the car to us to complete the deal, had we not been going to Manchester that day. Good work Joe and Manchester Subaru. More
My wife and I were looking for a 2011 Subaru Forester 2.5X premium. After searching for a good deal online we were going to head to Milford. Just prior to leaving we decided to stop at Manchester Subaru 2.5X premium. After searching for a good deal online we were going to head to Milford. Just prior to leaving we decided to stop at Manchester Subaru and try to get the same deal. This would save us at least an hour in the car. I purchased a Subaru from Manchester Subaru in 2003 and had a great experience. After arriving we were greeted promptly by Joseph Rhodes. He cleaned up the car we were interested in and took us on a test drive. After the test drive was completed I explained the deal that we were offered in Milford and he worked very quickly with the owner to come close to the price. We checked online, Milford didn't actually have any stock for this model with the options we wanted and the price that Joseph brought back was only a few hundred off. We agreed on the price and when it turned to trade-in Joseph called the bank then pulled a KBB report on the car. I told him how much we needed on the trade to make the deal work and we were off to financing. Joseph didn't even have us meet with financing. He brought out the loan application and quickly returned with the news that we were approved for the special interest rate. From start to finish it took 3.5 hours to complete the deal and drive off the lot. There was no up-selling, no phony antics and Joseph was a pleasure to deal with. I will absolutely go back to Manchester Subaru when I need to make my next, 3rd, purchase and hopefully will have the pleasure of buying that vehicle from Joseph Rhodes. Gary R. More
I am in total awe of this dealership. I was looking for a '11 Forester XT, in Black of course. There were none in Mass. where I live but I found one at Manchester Subaru. I e-mailed them this morning before work with my expectations on price and trade-in on my '10 Forester X-limited.I was really dreading the drive to New Hamphire. I got to work and there was an e-mail waiting for me from Joe LaBranche, agreeing on everything I asked for, and delivery of the vehicle to me the same day! Mind you, I live on the south shore of Mass. 90 miles away from this dealership. Joe drove the car to my home in snow and it took him 4 1/2 hours to get to my house. We signed all the paperwork and he connected the bluetooth to my phone. This dealership goes above and beyond. If you want a great deal on a Subaru and excellent customer service then I highly insist that you check out this dealership. I have never had such an easy and painless buying experience as this. More
I had a very positive experience with buying my current car. My previous car was a Subaru through this dealer and I stayed with them. No pressure or discomfort. A pleasure to work with. My salesperson Jack Berkowitz was not only flexible, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly but literally "going the extra mile" he drove my new Subaru from Manchester to Nashua when I could not physically take delivery that day at the dealership. Here I am problem free and a month later and in hindsight all of this experiences combined are a nice example of over the top "good customer service", a rarity these days. Thanks Jack. More
