This was my first time at Irwin. I drove over an hour to see a a specific car and it was everything I had hoped for! Shawn was wonderful to work with. We drove for 3 hours to get a Hybrid Elantra. We put a deposit down a few days before we could get there to secure the vehicle (there are very few around). We moved to Lakes Region the first of 5he year. We have been a customer since Jan. 2021. The people are great -- friendly and knowledgeable and personable. Once we had an issue on a Friday afternoon. The dealership waited on us to get there and fixed the issue. It happened to be a simple key fob malfunction. Every person was pleasant, yet I absolutely got the run around. First.. when the appointment was set to manage two recalls, the door latch recall … my husband stated that the drivers passenger door was fro around. First.. when the appointment was set to manage two recalls, the door latch recall … my husband stated that the drivers passenger door was frozen for months…. They were not prepared to fix it. Second, I mentioned with the ABS recall that the traction control and down hill assist lights were also on. When I spoke with a woman.. she said there wasn’t a connection. When I spoke with the gentleman who received my car the day of service and mentioned I thought they were connected, he said yes. Imagine my surprise whilst driving home… the traction control and down hill sensor lights reappeared. I pulled over to call the shop and spoke with the woman whom called herself the service manager (sorry can’t remember her name.) she repeated what the first female said to me. I told her that the technician that was communicating with me during repair had mentioned the check Engine light and the blind spot detection lights were on. I said I was aware and could not address those at this time as I had been Told that the check engine light was simply ambient temperature sensor. The other lights were never even mentioned. Fast forward to me being home and googling the recalls… this is what I found Service brakes, hydraulic: Antilock/traction control/electronic limited slip: Control unit/module Recall date 2020-09-03 Recall no. 20V543000 Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) recalled certain 2019-2021 Tucson vehicles on September 4, 2020. On December 30, 2020, Hyundai expanded the recall population, and added certain 2016-2018 Tucson vehicles. The Anti-lock Brake Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) could corrode internally and cause an electrical short, possibly resulting in an engine compartment fire. Recall consequence An engine compartment fire can increase the risk of injury or crash. Recall action Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will replace the HECU fuse. For 2019-2021 model years, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) software will also be updated. Recall repairs will be performed free of charge. Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures as a precaution until the recall repair is complete. The recall began November 2, 2020. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 195. This description combines the two, ABS and Traction control. To say the least… I’m quite dissatisfied. This on top of the debacle when purchasing the vehicle. I’m all set. Thank you…. I’ll take my business elsewhere. More
