I thought okay a dealership is only as good as the service department so I will give the sales department a shot. When my wife and I buy we do buy two (2) at a time. I get a pickup and she gets a suv,and with that said I brought her suv in for service and was looking at a Jeep something, well the Jeep listed for like $30,000.00 and I let the sales department look at the Trailblazer ( which was in service for service) so the salesman tells the manager where our suv was parked and I guess he went on to look at it, ( He must have because when I drove yours he passed us in ours ) well we are getting down to the numbers and have to wait because y"all had a meeting anyways finally the salesman came back with the numbers. My suv is a 2007 Chevrolet Trail Blazer, with 75,000 miles on it, Now I have done my home work and in poor condition fair trade value is $8,567.00 trade in and in excellent condition is about $700.00 more trade in... Ok your dealership is not the first one I was at I took it in the Chevrolet dealer and had a problem fixed in Jan 2014 and they offered at $13,000.00 trade on a new traverse, granted that new suv listed for $47,000.00 but I do get employee discount for working at GM for 30 yrs,With that said your general manager decided he would try to get mine for $6,000.00 Really I guess I just look stupid, and told the salesman exactally what I thought your manager and went back up to service to get mine I thought they may have been done with it since he was driving it, No one knew where it was as he just went and took it and DID NOT return it so my service was not done, so the service writters had to go and try to find mine. The service department apolgized all over themselves and it had nothing to do with the at all. Like I said I would and continue to use your service department, but as far as your sales department goes I have already told a couple of friends where not to go to buy one if they were trading one. ( To be completely fair, Josh was my salesperson and the sales people were fine other than your choise of a manager) My service appointment was for 11 am and i checked in at 10:57 I got my suv back at 1:05pm for a service , I ended up missing an appointment for the first tire rotion as they could get me out of there before my daughter got out of school she is onl;y 11 years old and we do not let her walk home yet<< No big deal but things happen and I"ll just make another appointment for that . My sales person came back up to me and said he did know that they could bump it up to $8,000.00 without consulting the manager, My thing is if they did not come with their A game from first thing why on earth would I let them try again, ( xxxx I already know my interest and fair play is not the first thing that matters to the sales department so why would even bring my truck to give them a shot to try to steel it.Like I said I will continue to use the service department , They are top shelf staff their, but the other part I will stand on, I think the manager was left over Jolly John, who knows maybe he will gone and we will give y"all another try in a few years., Good luck to your dealership. This is the second vehicle we have purchased at SMM in the past year. We have been treated fairly on both occasions. We went to the dealership today after looking online and seeing a 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel. We talked with Steve online about it and found out some of the details which led to our decision to go check it seeing a 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel. Shortly after we learned that the "manager" had taken it to a birthday party. The sales guy tried to find something comparable for us to look at but there was only one diesel on the lot that was with the manager. Steve was going to keep trying to get a hold of the manager so that he could bring it back to the lot for us to see. The manager said he would not be back until Monday. We found this to be poor customer service on the manager's part due to the fact that we were ready to purchase a $48K vehicle today. If this is how the manager treats the vehicles by gallivanting around in them (especially when there is only one of its kind) for an entire weekend and not willing to make a sell, we will not give them our business. We will be driving 3 hours away to a dealership that actually cares that we are customers ready to make a high dollar purchase. More
I began online. Your site was very informative and user friendly. It contained all the tools I needed to determine which vehicle I wanted, what my trade in was worth and what my financing options were. C friendly. Contacting the sales manager was easy and the details and terms of the deal I wanted to make were easily shared. He got back to me in a very timely fashion with a deal that I quickly found palatable. Arrangements were made to meet within 24 hours. That meeting took place, my sales rep and my finance guy were both friendly, helpful and eager to please. The vehicle I wanted exceeded my expectations, my trade in was what I promised it would be and the financing was arranged quickly and without incident. Within 90 minutes of my arrival, I left the dealership with a vehicle I am thrilled with at a price that I felt was completely fair. I own a company that operates a fleet of 8 vehicles, most of them Chrysler products. Our local Chrysler dealer with whom we had dealt for years went under in The Great Recession, so this was my first experience with Southern Maine Motors. I assure you that this is not my last. I will be back with my next need and absolutely look forward to doing business with you all again. Kudos to Tim, Justin and Steve for a job well done! More

My husband and I both needed to update and enlarge our vehicles due to three growing children. For months we figured out budgets, researched what we wanted and checked every dealer site in the New England vehicles due to three growing children. For months we figured out budgets, researched what we wanted and checked every dealer site in the New England area looking for the dealership that would fit us best. Southern Maine Motors in Saco had the best selection and largest inventory of the vehicles we were interested in, by far! I first contacted Steve Smith in an online chat that is on there website. He was able to answer questions and direct us to salesman Josh Goulette. On a Saturday morning, with three children in tow, we entered the dealership fully expecting to be able to update one vehicle but never imagined that they would be able to update both. We were also dreading the fact that the children get fidgety after a 15 minute wait at the doctors office, never mind a whole day at a dealership. Southern Maine Motors in Saco was amazing and so accommodating!!! Josh was excellent with the kids and very patient. The dealership had a wonderful waiting room with plenty of toys and popcorn, which the children loved! We had the pleasure of meeting Rick Strout in the service department who offered movies to them as well. Josh was fun to work with and was very knowledgeable about the vehicles we were interested in. After trade-in value discussions, test drives, bottom line figures and so on, my husband, children and I were able to drive off in not one but two new vehicles, a 2014 Durango and a 2014 Ram 1500! Buying one car is stressful enough, but buying two cars with three children, well, I think anybody can understand how stressful that could be... However, this was hands down the best experience we could have asked for! I absolutely recommend Southern Maine Motors in Saco!!! More
