My husband and I were coming from PA when we had a problem with our 1998 Dodge truck while we were towing a camper. They said they would try to help and they were very helpful at first. They let us s problem with our 1998 Dodge truck while we were towing a camper. They said they would try to help and they were very helpful at first. They let us stay there in our camper at the dealership and we gave them a rave review on google as a result. The bill came to almost $1000 and we had no idea what parts or labor would have been required for our repair so when we arrived home, after stopping at another dealership in Danvers, Mass., spending another $500 in repairs, we took 15 hours to get to PA since the rear differential had overheated so badly that we needed the sensor replaced and no fluid was put into the rear at this establishment. Upon arriving home, we had to buy a rear at the junkyard and pay another $1000. altogether with the installation. My mechanic here in PA is a certified transmission mechanic and he looked over our bill and said that there were two parts that had nothing to do with our problem and never should have been charged to us which amounted to about half or better of the entire bill. The service technician replaced the sensor and the computer readout on our transmission when it wasn't necessary for the truck to be fixed, overcharging us for the mechanic's mistake. Since we are from PA and not likely to deal with this outfit again, I called Elaine and told her I wanted to speak to the Service Manager about this bill. He didn't return my call for a week and then when I called back, he was on vacation and said he would call me when he got back. I feel that it won't be good news when he does finally call me, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone for service for their vehicles. Then when we had to go to the dealer in Mass., I was told that if any of the parts they replaced were bad that we wouldn't be charged, but the mechanic put the wrong part number on the rear sensor, so we had to pay for another one. My mechanic told me that the number wasn't even a Dodge or Chrysler part number. Needless to say, we will not vacation in Maine again, since before this happened, we did enjoy many summers up there. On 9 July 2012 I left my 2003 Chrysler T&C with Michael Chason for service. There was a grinding noise in the front end at all speeds, more when going slowly. The car was to be returned Friday mor Michael Chason for service. There was a grinding noise in the front end at all speeds, more when going slowly. The car was to be returned Friday morning, 13 July 2012. The return date was negated and promised for Saturday morning 14 July 2012. When I telephoned to verify the return, Mr. Chason had "gone home sick". Elaine Gray then became involved and advised that it "might be ready on Saturday afternoon, it was not. The vehicle was not returned until Monday afternoon, 16 July. As I was driving home, it became apparent that the AC was not working. It WAS working when I left the car on 9 July. Upon my return to the shop, a mechanic looked at the car and returned an hour later with an estimated cost of repair, as I recall, of over $500 to replace the air conditioning power unit/compressor. I repeat, the AC system WAS working when I dropped the car off for repairs. The service manager, a surly fellow at best, totally denied any responsibility for the affair. Not only was I without the use of my vehicle for a full week, but after having spent over $1,500 for repairs I feel that I was shabbily treated. Needless to say, I will NEVER return to Southern Maine Motors for service, nor will I EVER recommend them to any of my acquaintences, nor will I EVER purchase another Chrysler product. The government negotiated bail-out of Chrysler Corp. not only cheated all of it's bond holders out of their secured positions but by allowing the UAW union to assume thereafter a position of ownership the veracity of the corporation has forever been placed into doubt. The thuggish nature of Unions was made all too clear in my recent unpleasant dealings with Southern Maine Motors. Charles Comerford/The 21 Broad Street Corp. More
Bought a 2011 Grand Cherokee, Really liked it and Adem was great in the services dept. in a year both front shocks went and the air conditioner. Wanted to trade it in for a new 2012 Jeep. Called, email was great in the services dept. in a year both front shocks went and the air conditioner. Wanted to trade it in for a new 2012 Jeep. Called, emailed and set up an appointment. When we got there it appeared that no one wanted to sell a car. no one to look at my trade, the Jeep we liked was "promised" to someone. we left and bought a car from Prime. Bottom line treated like crap. And I was a returning customer. This is NO way to build a business. More

My experience with Todd and the others at SMM was outstanding! My purchasing and financial needs were met in a stellar manner. Top Notch! From the moment that I entered the lot to the time that I dro outstanding! My purchasing and financial needs were met in a stellar manner. Top Notch! From the moment that I entered the lot to the time that I drove my 2012 Jeep Liberty Latitude off the lot I was treated in a very respectful, positive and caring way. I tested about 5 cars on the lot during a time frame of a week. Todd never pressured me about a sale. His utmost goal was to work incredible hard to see if he could get the "right car for me." When I asked for a different price range, he found what I needed. When I asked for a different model, he found what I needed.... He truly and sincerely wanted me to be happy with my purchase. Todd even came to my house to bring me a car to test drive. We tried to see if the car I wanted fit into my garage and he helped me with that too.Talk about personable and individualized care! I shared with Todd that I was concerned about the time when the "sale/financial" conversation would start. I did not want to be treated in a condescending way as I have seen some dealers do. He assured me that I would not. Todd receiving the stellar treatment to Todd, the business transaction began! The financial/business manager, Rob Stanley and General Sales manager, J.C. Williams were excellent, supportive and very respectful to negotiate with. No pressure but pure humanistic and classy attitudes! I would go no where else to purchase a car and WILL and HAVE highly recommended Todd, Rob and J.C. to others for sure! More
I had just got in an accident and totalled my car (a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee). I knew I wanted to get another Jeep and had heard good things about Southern Maine Motors. I went to other dealerships just t Jeep Grand Cherokee). I knew I wanted to get another Jeep and had heard good things about Southern Maine Motors. I went to other dealerships just to get a feel for something different and to make sure I was making the right choice. I was overwhelmed with how pushy and unprofessional some of the other dealerships were. Southern Maine Motors was very helpful and understanding with my needs. I worked with Todd Thompson and he was great. He was not pushy and was very personable which is something I find comfort in dealing with. I would recommend Todd and Souther Maine Motors to anyone buying a new car. They were awesome to work with! More

I was looking for a used all wheel drive vehicle. I found one I was interested in and contacted Southern Maine Motors and set up a day to go and look and drive the car. After driving it and talking to Ryan a one I was interested in and contacted Southern Maine Motors and set up a day to go and look and drive the car. After driving it and talking to Ryan about what they would give me for a trade in and the price of the car. I told him that I had made appointments to look at 2 other similar cars. He said that was fine and gave me a business card. After looking at the other vehicles and thinking about it. I was online and found the car I wanted at Southern Maine Motors. I have purchase cars from Lee Dodge and Prime Toyota in the past. The thing I liked about dealing with Southern Maine Motors is that they were not pushy. I told them what I wanted to spend on a payment and what I would take for my vehicle. They did everything they could to make the deal work. The other 2 deals I looked at the sales men I dealt with called me 6 times within an hour after I had told him that the deal was not what I was looking for. He was trying to sell me every car but the ones I looked at. As far as I am concerned The only place I will deal with after my experience with Southern Maine Motors is them. I will recommend them to everyone that I know. More
It was a little tough in the begining. The first finance person (Tom I think) was a little too pushy for me. When I left there the first time I was feeling a little overwhelmed and flustered. I told him I person (Tom I think) was a little too pushy for me. When I left there the first time I was feeling a little overwhelmed and flustered. I told him I was not making a decision that day and he just didn't want to accept that. I like to think things over. However, after talking to Todd the next business day and telling him how I was feeling he had JC call me within 15 minutes. Between Todd and JC they really recovered your dealership from the hard feelings that were made during my first visit there. I truly appreciate their efforts to smooth things out and that is why I decided to make the purchase after all. More
I have purchased several new vehicles for my taxi business over the last few years. I have used four different dealerships, mainly because I have bought different makes and models. I began to think t business over the last few years. I have used four different dealerships, mainly because I have bought different makes and models. I began to think that all dealers were the same old song and dance. Well I dont sing or dance I just want to buy a vehicle at a fair price and not be oversold or undercut. I can honestly say that between the salesman, sales manager and the business manager there was not a weak link. These guys kept their cool under fire and believe me I am not an easy sale. They gave me a great price and understood me as a customer. I look forward to doing business with them again and hope that the DODGE Grand Caravans work out as well as the gentlemen at Southern Maine Motors did. If anyone would like a reference they can call me at 207-318-1795 Sincerely, Steve owner of ASAP TAXI More
