Jack Phelan Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram advertised a vehicle for $23,421 on 10/23/2025 When it came time to purchase the vehicle they included multiple add-ons, one of of which was a 3 month/3,000 mile "certif for $23,421 on 10/23/2025 When it came time to purchase the vehicle they included multiple add-ons, one of of which was a 3 month/3,000 mile "certification" for $1599.00 that was non-negotiable! NOWHERE on their website does it state that this certification is an additional charge! The advertised price of $23,401 plus taxes, fees and documentation is all I should pay for, not a profit making surcharge! Not to mention said vehicle has two years remaining on its original warranty, why would I pay an additional $1599.00 to cover something that's already warrantied by the manufacturer! Left immediately! ******UPDATE******* I FORGOT TO ADD THIS TO THIS TERRIFIC EXPERIENCE!!! STEVE GARCIA IS THE SLEAZEBALL SALES MANAGER WHO WOULD NOT REMOVE THE ILLEGAL $1599 "CERTIFICATION" REMEMBER THAT NAME PEOPLE WHEN SHOPPING AT THIS CROOKED DEALERSHIP! Called the salesman on this and I got no correspondence! Sent numerous texts and emails with no reply! Just asked WHERE on their website this is stated! Here's what Illinois law says about this: All costs must be in the advertised price. A dealer's advertised price for a vehicle must include all costs that a consumer must pay at the time of sale, such as dealer preparation and delivery. Only taxes, license and title fees, and a documentary fee can be excluded, and only if clearly disclosed in the ad. ADVERTISED PRICES MUST BE HONORED. BY LAW, CONSUMERS MUST BE ABLE TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE FOR THE ADVERTISED PRICE! Federal regulations provide extra protection. Under the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) "CARS Rule," dealers are prohibited from misrepresenting the cost of a vehicle and adding charges for optional items without a customer's informed consent. The FTC has successfully taken action against dealerships in Illinois for these exact practices. *****UPDATE 10/24/2025 The scammers over at Phelan RAISED the price of the vehicle $1595 the very next day! Coincidence? That's odd they wanted to screw me out of $1599 and all of a sudden the price of the vehicle goes up the same amount? The same vehicle that has been trending downward in price consistently since August? Amazing coincidence! I left out Eddie, the lackey made me laugh by telling me they were losing money on this "DEAL".....so if this were the case (which of course wasn't) why not sell the car at the advertised price and get it off your lot? That can't be helping your floor plan right Tom? NOPE, they'd rather screw the customer! They just couldn't be honest and straightforward. I am posting this to enlighten anyone out there thinking about doing business with Jack Phelan to go someplace else!
