I brought a 2017 Kia Optima 33 days ago and my check engine light came on the 4th day of having it. My husband and I took to the dealer repair shop and let them know it’s knocking and the engine and the engine light came on the 4th day of having it. My husband and I took to the dealer repair shop and let them know it’s knocking and the engine and the car was jerking. They told us it may just be a update and the systems, and then they calm they fixed the problem, well a few weeks later the check engine light came on again. We took it to another Kia repair shop and they told us that the last repair shop didn’t do all the proper steps. He said we going to need a new engine replaced but they had to let the tech line hear the knocking and need to get their approval to put a new engine in. Well we didn’t get the approval because they couldn’t hear the knocking while over the phone, The technician told us there’s nothing they can do about it just drive the car until the car locks up or the engine gets louder. We have small children and wouldn’t dare put them and this car due to safety issues with car. Corporate is now involved. More
