Before buying a car from Jeffrey Auto in Roseville, MI, please read this. I previously purchased a Kia Forte from this dealership, so I returned expecting a professional experience. On December 23, I stopped in intending to purchase a new vehicle. I was clear about my budget and what I was looking for. I asked to test-drive a Kia Niro, but the initial salesperson dismissed the request and said it didn’t fit my parameters, refusing to work with me. I requested another salesperson and was sent David, a sales manager. Before I could finish explaining my needs, he interrupted me and called me an idiot for looking at a Kia K5 seat on the showroom floor—despite the dealership having over 100 vehicles and customers being allowed to examine cars. This was unprofessional and unnecessary. Eventually, I worked with Tommy, who treated me respectfully. After about 90 minutes, we agreed on a vehicle at $35,800 out-the-door (taxes included). I placed a $500 deposit, and was told the car would arrive the day after Christmas. The car did not arrive on time. On December 29, I was notified it had arrived and went to the dealership with my parents. My father is disabled and was present because we were using his credit to secure a better interest rate. Despite only needing about 20 minutes to obtain insurance information, we were made to wait nearly two hours with no explanation. Then Kris, another sales manager, attempted to sell me an extended warranty package for $3,800 (paint, tires, rims). I declined. After that, the paperwork suddenly showed the financed amount as ~$27,800, even though: • Sale price: ~$35,800 • Cash down payment: $10,000 • Expected financing: ~$25,800 When I questioned this, I was given confusing explanations involving interest-rate adjustments, but the numbers still did not match the agreed deal. After three hours, I left. The next morning, I contacted the dealership and requested either: 1. The original deal agreed upon with Tommy, or 2. A refund of my money Initially, this was denied. Only after further pressure did they suddenly agree to the original number—but by then, I had lost all trust and decided to take my business elsewhere. I informed them I would be picking up my $10,000 cashier’s check, which I have a receipt for. As of writing this review, I have been unable to reach anyone at the dealership by phone. This entire experience involved: • Disrespectful treatment • Excessive delays • Confusing and inconsistent pricing • Pressure tactics I am sharing this so hard-working Americans don’t go through the same experience. Strong recommendation: Go to Summit Place Kia on Hall Road instead. Ask for Joseph or Leanne—excellent people, transparent pricing, and professional service. Even the owner was present.
