I am posting this review for a young single mom I tried to help after she purchased a vehicle from Jet Auto for nearly $7,000. At the time of purchase, she was told the vehicle needed a new axle but was a to help after she purchased a vehicle from Jet Auto for nearly $7,000. At the time of purchase, she was told the vehicle needed a new axle but was assured it was safe to drive while waiting for the part. Very soon after, the vehicle began wobbling and shaking. The replacement axle arrived on March 10, and after the axle and backup camera were replaced, the shaking continued. She contacted Tom at Jet Auto, who told her something just needed tightened from the axle repair. Shortly after, fluid began leaking near the repaired axle. She contacted Jet Auto again and was told to have it repaired, but no offer was made to cover the repair. She took the vehicle to General Wholesale, where she paid about $320 for a rear axle seal replacement because the differential was leaking fluid. She was told the leak was a result of the axle repair being done incorrectly. The vehicle then developed an even worse rattling noise and severe shaking. That same week, while driving, the vehicle suddenly shut off and the check engine light came on. General Wholesale diagnosed the issue and she paid to replace spark plugs and coil packs. Unfortunately, the problem continued. Wanting a fresh opinion, she took the vehicle to Dutro Ford. They discovered the flex plate was cracked and estimated the repair would cost approximately $3,600. She was informed there was a recall related to this issue, but due to the age of the vehicle, the manufacturer would not cover it. At this point, the vehicle was towed back home and remains there because she cannot afford another $4,000 repair after just purchasing it. What makes this situation even more upsetting is the history between their families. Her father and Tom have known each other for about 60 years. Her family has purchased vehicles from him and referred others to his business for years. She trusted him because of that relationship, but when she asked Jet Auto to take the vehicle back and unwind the sale so she could purchase another vehicle, they refused. She was advised that if both parties agreed, the sale could potentially be unwound, including handling taxes appropriately, but Jet Auto declined. I would strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from Jet Auto to do their research first. Spending thousands of dollars on a vehicle only to immediately face thousands more in repairs is a devastating situation, especially for a single parent who trusted the dealership. More
