My Continuing Great Relationship with Karp! I have lost count with the number of Volvos we have purchased from Karp Volvo since 1999 when I got my first Volvo convertible! I can quickly account I have lost count with the number of Volvos we have purchased from Karp Volvo since 1999 when I got my first Volvo convertible! I can quickly account for 9, but I am sure I am omitting at least one! We just love, first of all, Volvo cars. We have had XC90s, an XC60, XC70 convertibles, S80s and now my first S60. I just looooove the S60! That brings me to the Karp dealership. What can I say but THE BEST IN EVERY WAY! Our salesman, David Markowitz, was great! Very informative, respectful and provessional. He was NOOOOT pushy in any way and was very patient answering all my questions. Next, I love the service department. They have been our service people since 1999 and they are great; providing a loaner if needed (I never use that service because they are happy to take my either to the train station or home). Lastly, the Manager, Tim Gilley, is nothing short of the BEST! I am SURE you will not regret being a long-term customer of the Karp Delaership! More

Promises of prices they never intend to meet, lies to get you to stay a little longer so they go back to the managers office and promise another magical deal that you accept and get excited about only to have them come out with final paperwork with all the numbers changed. Hoping that you either won't notice or are to excited from their lies and promises to walk away at that point. The managers were smug and arrogant as if they pull this crap every day. My sales person Richard Tavares even stormed out after the deal fell apart, as if he has to deal with this type of deceptive tactic regularly. All of this occurred over 2 hours while my wife and my 2 year old daughter patiently by my side. We immediately left and proceeded to Huntington Volvo where we located the same XC60 vehicle and purchased for the promised price we never got at Karp. I will write a glowing review for the Huntington dealership even though it is 30 minutes farther from my home. More

Failed to complete oil change I have been coming here since moving to Queens 3 years ago and Matt used to take care of me. I have spent thousands of dollars here on this car during this time. I brought my xc70 in for an oil change and to have a rattle diagnosed. I arrived 15 min before my appointment and was told that it would take an hour to an hour and a half to complete the oil change and diagnose the rattle. I came back 2 hours later and asked for an update. They did not have an answer but several minutes later I was informed of numerous issues with my car with one of them related to the rattle with a pretty hefty cost attached along with additional costs for the other issues. I said that I would need to think about the repair costs due to the age of the car. When I asked if the oil change had been completed they told me no. It was now too late for it to be completed as I had to pick up my child from school. My family has only owned Volvos for almost 30 but that streak is over as I will not be buying another one with the service and treatment I received at Karp. More
A smart buy from honest people Once my husband and I decided to buy another Volvo, after having totaled my last Volvo about 2 weeks ago in a serious accident (That XC90 kept me saf Once my husband and I decided to buy another Volvo, after having totaled my last Volvo about 2 weeks ago in a serious accident (That XC90 kept me safe, a good reason to stick with this Swedish Phenomenon:) we knew we had to go to Karp. About 21 years ago, just before getting married, we purchased our first Volvo at Karp, a beautiful 940 Sedan, sold to us by a good friend Eddie Ferrari. We figured we could not yet afford to buy a house so why not secure a good safe car for us and the babies we planned to have.:) Our babies are now teenagers and we will be shopping for Volvos for them too.:) We enjoyed that car for 10 years and it was still riding beautifully when we sold it for a song to someone in great need of a car. Then years later a Volvo just like it came into our lives as a gift from someone who no longer had a use for it. We enjoyed that one for 2 years until paying it forward to a good friend's son who needed it to travel to and from school. This past Volvo, although purchased at another dealership where my mom was a salesperson, was from Karp. In actuality Karp sold it to us because when my husband and I saw that it was from Karp we knew it was meant to be. So last night, we purchased our fourth Volvo from Mark Taub, who answered my call last week asking if they had any pre-owned Volvos in our budget. Mark was very friendly, efficient and professional from start to finish. He had 3 cars waiting for us to see and was open and honest about all fees and pricing. We enjoyed meeting Mark and look forward to doing future business with him! Our loan was handled by Marc Goldsmith, another caring and and organized professional. Marc and Mark had everything ready for us to sign within hours, making the purchase so easy and rather timely. They were both excited for us which was a nice feeling. Mark, the salesman, even happily watched us pull away.:) Today I had questions about our paperwork and both of them talked to me with every ounce of patience that they had before the purchase was complete. This is how it should be. Trusted, quality care is what you can expect at Karp Volvo. We know this and encourage anyone who is interested in a Volvo, Buick or Kia to go visit Karp and find out for yourself. You won't regret it. Thank you Mark, Marc, Tim Gilley and David Karp. Very Bad Experience I recently leased a 2017 Volvo XC90 from this dealership. I am coming from out of state and I did make that clear to them from the onset. 1 week after I recently leased a 2017 Volvo XC90 from this dealership. I am coming from out of state and I did make that clear to them from the onset. 1 week after taking delivery, the dealership contacted me and informed me that I had to page >$2100 for registration. This was on top of the $1,300 I paid. It's their responsibility to make sure they check the registration requirements of their customers and they obviously don't want to take that extra step and just let you get the car - then just ask for more money later on. I have dealt with dealers out of state in my prior purchases and this is something none of them tried to pull on me. It's their mistake and they just won't own up to it for any customer. Very bad business, I would not recommend dealing with them. UPDATE: After contacting Mr. Daniel Karp and leaving him my contact information, true enough, I didn't hear back from him directly. Thank you for the token response and offer of assistance (actually, the lack thereof). I did mention to your GM that I have not received the monthly bill and I was guaranteed that you will make the payment for me prior to the due date so I will not be late. My bill arrived today with a due date of yesterday so I called volvofinancial and as I suspect, no payment was made so I settled it myself. I also have not received the "new" contract you had me sign even though you had me fedex my signed copy so you would get it asap. I was very disappointed with paying more money than I originally agreed to (and signed) and even more so now after the kind of "customer service" I have received. I understand that there are situations that could have been managed better but I was expecting that I would see at least better service from this dealership as they attempt to remediate the problem. I guess this is too much to ask. More

Karp Volvo was the only one willing to discuss lease financing on the vehicle I wanted that they had in inventory. David spoke to me professionally and delivered exactly as he said he would. Still can't believe it was that simple.. What a pleasure. More

My salesperson, David Markowitz provided outstanding customer service as he thoroughly explained the features of the new vehicle and the details of the new lease. Derek Neuner did a great job reviewing the financials and the paperwork was prepared promptly.
