I have been bringing my cars to Kearny Mesa Subaru for service since 2014 and have always been happy with the service, but it seems like their quality has decreased lately. Overall, I think communication and quality needs to be improved. -I had made an appointment online, but they didn't have a record of it -They did not do a walk-around of my vehicle with me -I asked about a loaner car, but they said none were available even though I saw other customers getting loaner cars. Later that day, when they realized the repair would take about a week they gave me a loaner car, but communication could be better here -I received no calls or updates about the status of my repairs until I got a call a week later to come pick up my vehicle. -I went to pick up my vehicle and was charged for repairs that I was previously verbally quoted would be covered under the warranty. However, the service department never gave me a printed out quote (I should have asked for one, but I didn't think about it). As a result, I had to come back the following day and when I returned, I spoke to my service advisor (who wasn't there the day before) and he removed the charges from my bill. -I never received the multi-point inspection sheet that I normally get -Ever since this service visit, I have been having problems with my car that weren't there previously. I thought about going back thinking it was one bad incident, but after seeing other recent reviews, I have decided to take my car to another Subaru dealership for service More

I am writing this review to express what a great experience this was and to command Kearny Mesa Subaru staff for their excellence. I have dealt with many Subaru dealerships in SoCal region during my search, and have bought multiple cars in my life, and this was without a doubt the best experience I have had. This was especially thanks to Jay Noblezada who was exceptionally helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. I am pretty sure he stayed wayyy longer than his shift because we were delayed on our way from LA. He made the test drive an exciting experience and was throwing left and right pieces of information about Ascent that we did not know even though we did extensive research. He really knows his stuff. The paperwork with him was buttery smooth and everything was clear and transparent from the start to the end. He really went out of his way to make us feel good and make this deal happen. Make sure to ask for Jay Noblezada when you get there for outstanding service. More
Best car buying experience I have ever experienced. Salesman Jay Noblezada is very knowledgeable about the company and the inventory of cars on the lot. I am a senior citizen (grandma) and have purchased several cars in the past and have had unpleasant experiences with salesmen. Jay was respectful, professional and genuinely a nice person. I recommend Subaru Kearny Mesa if you are thinking about purchasing a Subaru. I give Jay 10 stars out of 10!!! Thank you Subaru for having Jay Noblezada as an employee. What can I say, that has not been said by other others. 1, service is horrible. 2, Honesty is questionable. 3, when in for an oil change, and dro What can I say, that has not been said by other others. 1, service is horrible. 2, Honesty is questionable. 3, when in for an oil change, and drove away with a damage stereo/GPS...they claim they had nothing to do with it.. they asked for $980.00 to repair... 4, I love pain because I kept going back, oil change again, and drove away with a damaged air compressor, they claim they had nothing to do with it and asked $1350.00 for repair. 5, Called Subaru about about my experience, they were nice enough to send me a check of $ 800.00 help cover some of the cost. Not sure service was complete I had a scheduled appointment but when I got there they didn’t want to take me and said that I needed to be overnight. I don’t live close, had no way home and I had inquired to the scheduler if they could indeed get to my vehicle before closure that day. Oh yes I was assured. But the service dept. did not want to honor my appointment. They offered no shuttle or service to get home and back. When I protested, he quickly took my vehicle and the finished service was an oil change and car wash, first they had told me to get new brake pads but on that day, the brakes were good? I’m not convinced they checked fluid levels or did a real safety inspection. More
Absolutely the worst customer service experience I ever had. Made appointment last year and left my car for a minor service. Repair was finally done 2 1/2 days later. AVOID THIS SERVICE DEPT LIKE THE PLAGUE! Purchasing a car here was a positive experience but unless you are doing a warranted service - DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE FOR SERVICE!!! First, it is VERY difficult to get an appointment, second their costs are just about double that of outside mechanics, and third, they are dishonest and do not communicate. I brought my car in for a tune up and the costs were highway robbery. They proceeded to give me a list of "additional repairs" needed that were hilariously overpriced. They also broke off 3 wheel studs and lug nuts while working on my car, and then tried say they needed to fix them and the cost to me would be $450. In contrast, I had Valvoline break one wheel stud and they fixed it at their cost. I tired to follow up with the service manager by phone and email a few times and never got a response. They do not care. It is all about $$ and they will rob you every moment they can. I was planning to buy another Subaru next year, but this dealership is 100% off my list for ANYTHING now. More

I have had multiple cars for over 14 years - I never had this bad service. They are not reachable - very hard to schedule service. Do not call back when they say they will call back. It’s been two month since I have been trying to get my car fixed. Struggle is still ongoing. I will probably not buy Subaru again due to service experience. More
