I had a terrible experience purchasing a 2022 4Runner. Sales persons Erik and Marco were just fine. Good customer service. Where I am giving it a one star is because of loan officer Ricky Walter. I Sales persons Erik and Marco were just fine. Good customer service. Where I am giving it a one star is because of loan officer Ricky Walter. I came in with a pre-approved loan from my credit union. My credit union loan officer even communicated with Ricky to let him know my interest rate, loan terms, and that I was pre-approved. Everything ready to go. Ricky made me sign a blank iPad monitor and told me not to worry when I asked him what I was signing, that everything that was discussed would be printed for me. After 3 hours, when time came for me to take possession of the car, Ricky printed loan docs, where my signature was inserted electronically at pertaining purchase contract paragraph with me accepting loan terms at a higher rate. When I brought this up to him, he said not to worry that the difference in monthly payments between lower interest rate from my credit union and this higher one he printed, were $3 or $4 per month. He even showed me this on his computer by swapping interest rates between higher and lower and somehow it did show a difference of $4 or so. I was tired of waiting and wanted the vehicle so I accepted it and drove home with my new vehicle. It turns out that the difference in interest payments for the first yr alone is approx. $378 higher (about $31 per month) than I would’ve gotten if he would’ve used my credit union. Also, upon further review of the purchase contract, Ricky fraudulently snuck in $425 for “Other Charges”. Now I have to refinance my loan and fight for them to take off those fraudulent $425 for “other charges”, 2 days later. Be careful when you deal with Ricky Walter. I am sure this is standard operating procedures for Keating Nissan management. More
