Kelly GMC, is what service everywhere should be. I purchased a used GMC truck from Kelly. If I am not mistaken, 8 or 9 days after the purchase, I had a mechanical breakdown. I was stranded in heavy t I purchased a used GMC truck from Kelly. If I am not mistaken, 8 or 9 days after the purchase, I had a mechanical breakdown. I was stranded in heavy traffic on Lakeland Highlands Blvd. I called the police department to report a disabled vehicle, they dispatched an officer. Next, I called my Kelly sales representative and told him of my circumstances. He told me some would contact me from the service department right away. My thoughts were, I doubt his idea and my idea, of “right away” are the same. Within a few moments the service department called, informed me that a tow truck driver would call soon and be dispatched. The driver called about 90 seconds later, said he was in Winter Haven and would be there in 30 minutes. He rolls up almost exactly on time and has the truck half way loaded by the time the police arrive. Not to bash the police, the point is these guys are on point with everything I’ve been told so far. I ride with the driver to the service center, the service manager has someone inspect the vehicle and diagnose the problem. As it happens, the fuel pump failed. I was informed this was not an item in stock, it would need to be ordered. They handed me the keys to a courtesy vehicle and told me they would keep me advised of the progress. I had several calls from the sales staff and managers to follow up that my problem was being handled. The next day I received a call to inform me the part had arrived, and they would try to have it ready later in the day. Another call mid afternoon and I was ready to roll again. I am 60 plus years old, purchased many vehicles and have had them serviced. This was the only time an unfortunate evert ended up a pleasant experience. Job well done to the entire Kelly staff. In my opinion you set the standard for what service should be. More
