As a walk in customer for a used vehicle I was given a sale price for a vehicle which was well above the advertised internet price (I was unaware of the internet price at the time of my visit). I was also told the Kelly Blue Book value for the car was greater than what is actually on the KBB web site.
The car was pretty much exactly what I was looking for and I did in fact purchase the vehicle. The car was advertised on the net for $10,995, the price I was given was $12,500. I'm not really disputing the price of the vehicle, what concerns me is the fact that I was lied to. The salesman, nor the dealer, never mentioned the on-line advertised price, he also told me the KBB value was $13,900 (in reality the Blue Book value is $11,195). I was also told Mr. Kelly (the dealer who was my first contact) had given me a price below the actual asking price, NOT TRUE.
The truth is, we like the car, a VW New Beetle. I'm just very disappointed with the fact the salesman lied to me not once, but twice.
Buyer beware! !
