The Con Job I bought the used Kia Cadenza in June 2018. The car has been driven less than 3000 miles since taking it to Freedom Toyota for a oil change and tire r I bought the used Kia Cadenza in June 2018. The car has been driven less than 3000 miles since taking it to Freedom Toyota for a oil change and tire rotation. With that being completed I was asked it I would like the free state inspection,so I said yes. The service advisor came back and told me the 1 set of tires had 25% tread left and the other set was good. He advised me that they would pass inspection but had to fail my car because he said it needed new rear rotors and pads. He gave me a quote of $595.00 to do the job and I went on my way. I took the car to a friend who has a car repair business and put up on the rack and the repair man came out and said there wasn't anything wrong with the rotors and pads. He did say he would have to fail my tires for inspection due to them being dry rotted and in the groves where the tread was all had 1 crack in each of them. And the tires did not wear evenly giving the car a loud noise and rough driving on the road. I got the new tires and a all wheel alignment which needed adjustments and now rides like a new car. So the bottom line is they were Dishonest and were going to charge me $595,00 for something that wasn't needed and I spent the $700.00 elsewhere for the new tires and alignment and it passed inspection!! More
