I inquired about 2 vehicles on their website. I get a call from a salesman named Henry who says they have a different model available, or a preowned available. He said the 2 I was asking about are not available. Come to find out the next morning the story changes and the 2 I'm interested are going to be available. So I feel like he tried to pull a bait and switch right out the gate. They tried to push me to come down to the dealership, but their location is not convenient from where I live, so I asked for an idea of a price so I could decide if it would worth it to come down and make a deal.
So via phone, he gives me an outrageous out the door price to which I said it was way beyond other dealer offers. He said he could take off things like the service agreement/warranties. I never asked for those things to be included in the first place, so he was trying to roll those into the price which seemed deceptive. I told him what price I was looking for based on another offer that I had, he puts me on hold, comes back and says "good news, we can beat that price" so we agreed to a price just slightly less. I set up an appointment to come in today, but called first to make sure we are still talking about the same vehicle stock #, and confirm that it is still available. He referenced the price we discussed the day prior, and says I can make a refundable deposit via phone. I said great, and that I would call him back to likely do that. He calls me back 5 minutes later to say his manager wrote down a different price, one that was $1K higher. I said that does not work for me. Henry says he would see what he could do, calls me back, says that it is the $1K higher price, and they are already "taking a loss on the vehicle" which I do not believe for a second as they are charging over MSRP as it is. Total waste of time.
