I was on the internet pricing a new Grand Cherokee through jeep.com and submitted my 'dream car' to Ken Garff West Valley Dodge Chrysler Jeep, just to see if they had what I wanted. I had looked at o through jeep.com and submitted my 'dream car' to Ken Garff West Valley Dodge Chrysler Jeep, just to see if they had what I wanted. I had looked at other dealerships in the Salt Lake valley but decided on Ken Garff. I received an email from John Scott in reference to my Jeep. John and I traded emails to one another over a couple of days and I decided to go in and look at the Jeep Grand Cherokee. I had 'built' a Grand Cherokee Limited but they did not have one on the lot to look at, but John immediately worked his magic to try to find the right Jeep for me. I looked at what they had on their lot and decided to test drive an Overland. It was absolutely a fantastic vehicle to drive. It had all the options, that was standard, and everything that I could want and more. Needless to say that test drive was my down fall and I started the process of buying the vehicle. John was absolutely great. He worked with me with my Jeep Liberty that I had leased from a different dealership and took care of the remainder of my lease with nothing for me to do but drive away in a new vehicle. The entire experience for me was great. Everyone at Ken Garff; Carlos Molina, Sergio Torres, Rich Evans and especially John Scott went far above my expectations of buying a vehicle. I had a bad experience with another 'BIG' name dealer in Salt Lake valley trying to lease a vehicle for my wife but John Scott showed me what a salesman is really all about. I'm loving the Grand Cherokee Overland!! More
In the fall of 2010 I needed a right hand drive Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for my job...rural mail delivery. I searched for prices in the state of Utah via the internet. I was contacted by several sales Wrangler Unlimited for my job...rural mail delivery. I searched for prices in the state of Utah via the internet. I was contacted by several sales people from various dealerships. Marc Green from Ken Garff West Valley Dodge Chrysler Jeep was the most persistent and worked for the only dealership that actually had what I needed on their lot. Another dealer offered to sell me the Jeep that Ken Garff had for about $120 cheaper, but Marc Green matched their offer. I wasn't happy about the price of the vehicle, but they were competitive with everyone else in the area and they had the vehicle on their lot. Marc had everything ready for me when I drove 3 hours from Vernal, UT in a blizzard to pick it up. The Jeep was already washed and waiting for me when I arrived. From my arrival to departure after all paperwork was signed and sealed was less than 1 hour. Extras were offered in the Finance office, but nothing was pushed down my throat. This was by far the easiest purchase of a vehicle I have EVER been through. Marc Green and his bosses did exactly what they promised they would do. That's hard to find at any car dealership and it was a breath of fresh air for me personally. I will continue to buy my vehicles from the Ken Garff dealerships in the future. More
I was looking at new 4dr Jeep Rubicon's and already new what I wanted and drove to the last dealer I bought a new car from and that was Ken Garff. I felt no loyalties to any one dealer. Ken Garff was just what I wanted and drove to the last dealer I bought a new car from and that was Ken Garff. I felt no loyalties to any one dealer. Ken Garff was just the first on my stop. I figured I would be spending the next few days in this process and dreaded the whole event. I found a few I liked and started talking with the salesman who came out to greet me, and that was Marc Green. We test drove 2 Jeep's and the process started. I new the price I was looking for and Marc was awesome in getting me that price. He introduced me to Rich Evans and within 15 min we had a price. I thought I could get a better price at another dealer so I left and went to the next closest Jeep dealer and walked out of there in 30 minutes and was back on Ken Garff's lot starting the paperwork. I was extremely pleased with the whole purchase and after the paperwork I was driving home in my new 4dr Rubicon. I now have a dealership I will buy from again and learned there are honest car salesman out there and highly recommend Marc to anyone looking for a smooth process. Rich was awesome too! The pair changed my mind on new car salesmen and I am glad. More
My wife was looking for a car online and she had found this used 2010 HHR at Ken Garff West valley. She had found others in Denver but the dealer ratings were very poor. The Dealer rating was very good a this used 2010 HHR at Ken Garff West valley. She had found others in Denver but the dealer ratings were very poor. The Dealer rating was very good at Ken Garff so I bought it without seeing or driving the car. This was the easiest car that I have bought and the service and communication was great! The car is excellent and the wife loves it. I never thought I would buy a car online but the dealer ratings were great and my experience with this dealer confirms thier great rating. I will drive 400 miles in the future and shop with Ken Garff West Valley when I purchase my next car! Thanks again for a great deal on a great car! More
Pros: Good pricing, great mobile site, Great followup customer service Cons: Wait time in office, feels like used car lot Sales: Found the vehicle online, and viewed it on their great mobile site. Sa customer service Cons: Wait time in office, feels like used car lot Sales: Found the vehicle online, and viewed it on their great mobile site. Salesman took a smoke break every 15 min, and knew nearly nothing about vehicle features. He was honest about it at least. Office: Salesman disappeared, and I had a new middleman, who kept telling me he was "on my team, not the dealerships". He played the car buying game, going back to confer with the man behind the curtain about 5 times. What a joke. They only have one office to sign papers, so I waited nearly three hours. The receptionist was talking loudly about her work schedule with a co-worker, and the other sales guys were just pacing over their shared offices. During the "car buying game" I plainly asked if any fees other than dealer doc, and was told no. However, at paper signing they add $399 "Identity Protection" package on to all vehicles. After waiting nearly three hours, I just wanted to get out of there so I paid it. *******UPDATE********* Upon finding out about the VTR issue, the dealership apologized for the wait, and offered a refund including tax for the VTR identity protection. ********************** Overall, I am happy with the purchase, because I like the vehicle. But I would not recommend the dealership experience. With the Ken Garff name, I expected more than a tacky used car lot. *******UPDATE********* Glad the Ken Garff named stepped up to the plate. I feel much better about recommending them and going back myself. ********************** More
Purchased a new Durango from them. We already had our financing arranged so all we had to do is agree on a price for the vehicle we wanted. Endured unbelievable pressure by them to finance through them, financing arranged so all we had to do is agree on a price for the vehicle we wanted. Endured unbelievable pressure by them to finance through them, along the way I realized that they will flat out lie to you with out batting an eye. When confronted with it they try to justify it. It's as if it's in their corporate culture. You can do a lot better going else where. More
I moved to Utah from Washington where no safety inspection is required. I went to a Goodyear shop for emissions and safety and was told that my steering assembly on my 88 Dodge Dakota needed repla inspection is required. I went to a Goodyear shop for emissions and safety and was told that my steering assembly on my 88 Dodge Dakota needed replaced and would cost over $1K. When I called Ken Garff Dodge they said it was highly unlikely that the whole thing needed replaced and figured they could get me going for around $400. I brought it in that afternoon and they had it repaired by the end of the day with a passing Safety test cert and an alignment for $450. Very happy with the result. More
Went into West Valley Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge to get an oil change on my 1998 Jeep Wrangler. Also got State Inspection and Emissions. When the work was completed, Carlos asked if I had had my front and rear di change on my 1998 Jeep Wrangler. Also got State Inspection and Emissions. When the work was completed, Carlos asked if I had had my front and rear differentials serviced and that they were due. He told me that they found metal shavings in the front differential. He then told me that I needed to have my transmission serviced and the bands adjusted. I have a 5 speed standard transmission. He told me that to service the front and rear would cost about $250.00. I serviced the front differential today. There was a very fine coating of metal on the plug magnet. The rest of the case showed no metal. I feel that I avoided a rip off. I will not return to the dealership for any reason. They are not interested in providing honest service and be wary if they tell you you need additional services, they only want to "service" your wallet. More
Recently I went around looking for a used Chevy Silverado and saw one at this dealership so I stopped in. I told the salesman I was a cash buyer and was only interested in the one Silverado they had. (Its a and saw one at this dealership so I stopped in. I told the salesman I was a cash buyer and was only interested in the one Silverado they had. (Its a dodge dealer)I told him how much I was able to spend and asked him if he could get this truck into that range. (no price listed on the truck and he wouldn't even tell me the asking price) He said yeah, I can get it in that range no problem. He said with a cash offer it would be no problem and then made annoying remarks such as "you're the king of utah." I test drove the truck and loved it. It was the work truck model with the 4.8L v8, rubber floors and nothing fancy. We sat down to go over numbers after he left us in his office for no joke 25 minutes. (my wife was pissed off at this point) He came back and made us an offer $6,000 above what we said we would pay. We called him on it and he left us alone for another 25 minutes and returned with an offer $500 less than the first one. He then proceeded to pull up nadaguides.com and show us what the truck is worth. He included the truck as an LT model with leather interior, a 5.3L moter and power accessories with less miles than the truck we were looking at and used this info as a basis for his offer. I pointed all these gross errors out but he made it clear that this didn't change the price any. I looked up these trucks on kbb.com and nadaguides.com and new what the truck was worth and my initial offer was higher than what these two sites state. Greg and this dealership jerked my wife and I around for 2 hours and we left. I have never been so mad in my life. I used to have a dealers license and I would buy and sell cars so I know the value of these things and how the system works. By the way, the next day I bought a much nicer truck of the same year with the same miles and much better equipped (LS package) for $1,000 less than my initial offer with Greg at Ken Garff. I understand the barter system but holy crap, they were off by $7,000-$8,000!!! Mark More
They mislead us about the gap insurance, never told us it was not required. Also when I cancelled the gap insurance and after 3+ weeks on not receiving our money back, I left messages for shari and she neve was not required. Also when I cancelled the gap insurance and after 3+ weeks on not receiving our money back, I left messages for shari and she never ever returned my calls. When getting the car serviced with appointment, it will still take them days to even look at the vehicle and they refuse to give you a loaner car or rental! Salesmen are very very pushing and almost bully you into buying a car. They would not give price of car until after they did loan approval etc....Would never ever buy a car from them again or recommend anyone else does!! More
