I've been servicing my Kia almost exclusively at Kia Country service department since purchasing my car, 5 years ago. The only misstep that has happened was this past time for an oil change. While I was able to argue to get a very small, but very annoying issue taken care of, it took a good bit of arguing with the service person as to why it should be taken care of without charge. It was a known problem in my year, make and model (I even brought in a Kia technical bulletin that addressed the problem.) and I had only passed the warranty of those types of issues by 4 months/3000 miles. I feel that it should have been a non-issue and that the part would have been very inexpensive for the service department to take care of. For the sake of good customer service, I think that it should have been offered to be remedied without a fight. Other than that, they have always been extremely friendly, timely and compenent in their service. More

Doing business with KIA Country of Chaleston was an easy, no hassle experience. I told him what I had came for, a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado, and he quickly got me the keys and within 5 minutes I was off on my test drive. After the test drive I sat down at a desk and we hashed out the details in a matter of about 20 to 30 minutes. I knew what my trade in was worth and what the vehicle that i was purchasing was worth and Ken/KIA Country did not try to low ball me or over charge me for either. The paperwork was the longest aspect of the purchase aside from the negotioations which were very fair and drama free. More

We were interested in buying a new 2013 Kia Soul and after some internet research found that very few cars that met our specifications were still available. We made inquiries over the web and ended up speaking with Courtney from the dealership. Within an hour she emailed us specifications and information on the cars they had that met all the criteria that we needed. Through email and telephone we were able to come to a price (very reasonable) and put a deposit on the car. We actually live 5 hours from Charleston so we had to go and pick up the car. The dealership offered to pay for an overnight stay in town to help us make the trip to pick up the car. When we arrived at the dealership Norm took us for a test drive and went over everything we needed to know to feel great about our purchase. They provided a great experience, great accommodations and have followed up with us to be sure we are satisfied with our purchase. The below letter was written to Kia HQ in Irvine, California.... My parents have been loyal Kia customers for as long as I can remember. My dad – a Sportage; my mom – an Amanti or more recently a California.... My parents have been loyal Kia customers for as long as I can remember. My dad – a Sportage; my mom – an Amanti or more recently an Optima. They were the best customers a dealer could ask for … every two years they faithfully purchased brand new vehicles paying cash. In May, my dad passed away after a four week battle with a very aggressive form of cancer. In the aftermath of this unexpected loss, our family had a lot of logistics to deal with. One of the items on my mom’s incredibly long “to do list” was figuring out what to do with my dad’s Sportage. That thought of having to sell it herself saddened and frightened my mom tremendously; that was something my dad always did. One phone call to their sales person at Kia Country of Charleston quickly put my mom at ease. Elijah Tucker, who had been their sales person through numerous purchases, assured her that he and the dealership would help her. Kia Country and Elijah came through within a few days, selling the car and presenting my mom with a check for more than the Kelly Blue Book value. She was shocked and overwhelmed at the same time; shocked that the car sold so quickly and overwhelmed with a sense of relief and gratitude towards Elijah and his colleagues. The phenomenal service from Elijah didn’t stop there. Just this past week, my mom ripped a hole in the tire of her Optima by hitting a curb. She still had Elijah’s contact info in her cell phone and reached out to him urgently asking for help. Within 30 minutes, Elijah arrived onsite with a loaner car AND a tow truck. He sent my mom on her way and stayed behind with her Optima and the tow truck. My mom was beyond words. I am beyond words. It’s comforting to me to know that there are people in the world like Elijah who genuinely care and corporations like Kia who empower their employees to go above and beyond. Saying a simple thank you to Elijah and Kia doesn’t seem like enough. Each one made a difference in my mom’s life; far beyond selling a car or calling a tow truck. They made her feel valued, they made her feel appreciated and most importantly, they made her feel safe. As I write this letter of gratitude, I’m sitting in Minneapolis working a National Press Introduction event for Kia. I don’t believe in coincidences much these days. Today, I have the opportunity to personally share the above story with Kia people who quite simply and honestly “get it” and for that I’m incredibly grateful. We have brought 3 Kia's (Sportage, Spectra and now the Optima) from this dealership thus far. We are please with Kia in general, especially with the way the vehicles perform without too many issues.
