No Fuss Sales Experience-Beware Of Upsell On The Way Out My wife was in the market for a new SUV. I currently own a Kia Optima (purchase from a different dealer 3 years ago) and have been very happy with the My wife was in the market for a new SUV. I currently own a Kia Optima (purchase from a different dealer 3 years ago) and have been very happy with the reliability and styling of the car. So, we decided to start her own search at Grieco Kia, in Delray Beach, FL. We were anticipating a full day of haggling and pressure from pushy sales people hovering over us like vultures. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised. We entered the showroom (which was very understated, which we liked) and were greeted by a sales person who was not at all pushy or overbearing. He let us do our thing. He asked a few questions about what we were looking for and pointed us in the right direction without following our every move. Keep in mind, he was there when we needed, and stood away when not- the way a sales person should. It was refreshing. We also had a great experience with the Sales Manager. This guy was couldn’t have been more straightforward and honest. There was no haggling here. He asked a few questions about how we wished to finance the car and offered several options after applying a significant reduction in the sticker price- with no haggling. We were shocked. It seemed too good to be true! The only seemingly negative part of the transaction was at the end, when we met with the Business Manager to sign all the papers. Man, this was the longest and most arduous portion of the deal. This is where the dealership adds all extra costs to the “agreed to” monthly payment. This was uncomfortable. All dealerships do it, and there is some value to the options which you don’t necessarily have to accept. But beware of the upsell at the end. All told, it was a very positive experience and I am going back to this dealership this week for another car. Oh, and by the way- my wife LOVES her new Kia Soanta——. It’s beautiful inside and out. Oil Change I brought my Soul in for an oil change, but it was discovered that my car had 'tire rot'. She arranged for a ride home for me and a pick up the next day. Although very unexpected (not to mention a surprise expense) Jennifer handled the situation professionally and all turned out well.
