Extremely disappointing experience with Kia Downtown Los Angeles. I dropped off my vehicle on 3/17 for what I was told would be a 48–72 hour diagnostic. Instead, this turned into nearly two months of del Angeles. I dropped off my vehicle on 3/17 for what I was told would be a 48–72 hour diagnostic. Instead, this turned into nearly two months of delays, poor communication, repeated follow-ups, and ongoing issues that still do not appear to be fully resolved. From the beginning, communication was extremely inconsistent. I made multiple calls, left numerous voicemails, and often received little to no response from the service department. I even had to go to the dealership in person just to get updates regarding the status of my vehicle. A loaner vehicle was eventually provided, but I repeatedly had to follow up myself for extensions due to the ongoing delays. I also requested a larger vehicle from the beginning because of my family’s needs, but it took weeks before one finally became available. I was eventually informed that my vehicle had suffered a transmission failure and that they were waiting for an inspector to approve the warranty claim. The transmission was later replaced with a remanufactured unit under warranty. During that process, I was also advised there was an engine leak requiring repair, only to later be told weeks afterward that it may have simply been oil residue and that they were “playing it safe.” Throughout the process, there were constant delays, changing updates, and lack of proactive communication. Even after being told the vehicle had passed inspection and was fully ready for release, I picked it up on 05/12 extremely disappointed with the condition it was returned in. The vehicle still sounds abnormal when turning on and off, making it difficult to believe the issues were fully resolved or properly inspected before release. On top of that, the interior was returned dirty with visible oil/grease marks left inside the vehicle. After nearly two months without my car, this was completely unacceptable. I honestly question how the vehicle was released back to me without a complete quality inspection to ensure everything was functioning and sounding properly. I have since left voicemails, sent videos and pictures documenting the ongoing concerns, and am still waiting for proper resolution. This entire experience has been exhausting, frustrating, and far below the level of service I expected. More

I never felt pressured—just well-informed and confident that my vehicle was in good hands. Her communication was excellent, and they went above and beyond to ensure everything was completed on time. I want to share my experience with Elizabeth at Kia Downtown LA. (09/27/2025) On Saturday, I came in for service. I was told the repair could not be fixed right away, so I needed to leave my car. In the past, another staff member had helped me immediately and provided a rental car on the same day. However, Elizabeth did not even check availability and quickly told me it was not possible. When I explained that I had received a rental before, she frowned, looked annoyed, and made me feel like I was bothering her. She told me to just go home and wait for a phone call after they check, but no help was actually given. The next day, I even received a message saying I “missed my appointment,” which is completely false. I followed her instructions, but instead of helping me, I was dismissed and marked as a no-show. This shows poor customer service, lack of effort, and unprofessional behavior from Elizabeth. Kia Downtown LA needs to improve staff training and make sure customers who bring in their cars are treated with respect and proper support. More

I was repeatedly given inconsistent answers by the service staff as to what was wrong with my vehicle and when it would be ready. I was told by service staff that the mechanics were not experienced, a service staff as to what was wrong with my vehicle and when it would be ready. I was told by service staff that the mechanics were not experienced, and that i could come get the vehicle within 1-2 days. i did not receive my vehicle until 7 days later. the issue with my car? nothing, i brought the car to this dealership to see if i would need a wheel alignment, and to repair a recently damaged window seal. at the end of the 7 day period what service had they done to my vehicle? again, nothing. they told me they changed the oil (which had been done a week prior and not asked of them) ordered a new window part to which i would have to return 4 days later to get installed on the vehicle, and that they had completed a diagnostic. 7 days. it took this dealership 7 days to tell me they ordered a new part and changed my oil. there is a long list of other inconsistency’s and issues that arose with this interaction, wether it be them not being able to find my car when i came to pick it up (i had to use my app to find it, and it was parked some place a few blocks away, with a different number service tag on it) or the constant time assurances that turned out to be false. this entire experience was disappointing and left a bad taste in my mouth for this “BRAND NEW STATE OF THE ART DEALERSHIP” as said by the robot voice on the phone when you call in, which i did plenty of because nobody called me with answers regarding my vehicle status and service. I could go on, to explain how bad this experience was, but to be honest, i have better things to do, that including regaining the time i lost during the total of 9 days they had my car. So i will end with this, If you expect the bare minimum of communication, service, and competency that is standard when dealing with a business, go to any other kia dealership in los angeles because you will not find it at Kia DTLA.
