Great Service in Great time I was happy with my service at KIA of Chattanooga. I was afraid they would not be able to squeeze me in without an appointment, but Nikki was so frien I was happy with my service at KIA of Chattanooga. Trying to sell service not needed. This is my daughters '14 Sportage which we brought in for a no cost software update. We left the vehicle with the dealership for a couple of hours. This is my daughters '14 Sportage which we brought in for a no cost software update. We left the vehicle with the dealership for a couple of hours. You called my daughter to say the car would not start due to a dead battery and it had to be jump started. You also said the battery "tested" bad and to replace it would be $450.00. This is a four year old vehicle and I realize sometimes batteries do not last as long as they should, but we have not had a single issue with it. We instructed not to replace it. When we came to pick the vehicle nothing else was mentioned about the battery. No one tried to convince us it was bad or show us how it was tested. I looked at the battery and physically it looked new, just dusty. The vehicle started up perfectly and we left. I came to my office which is less than a mile away and turned the vehicle off and started it multiple times with no issue. I put a battery load tester on it and it showed perfect in the green. There is no way a battery tested bad and then without any recharging just shows good again. After multiple starting cycles it is obvious the battery was good all along. We feel your service writer was just trying to make an outrageous sale for no reason. I checked pricing on a replacement and it was $93.00 for a 60/36 month battery and hers literally takes about a minute to remove and a minute to reinstall. Overall the service writer was pleasant for the 30 seconds we spoke with him both times, but I am very upset about trying to pressure someone in to such a ridiculously overpriced and unneeded purchase. That in itself removes all confidence we have with this service department. More
