I visited Kia of Irvine last Monday for routine service on my Kia Forte, which is still under factory warranty. While the service advisor, Brad, was polite and professional, the pricing I was quoted was ou on my Kia Forte, which is still under factory warranty. While the service advisor, Brad, was polite and professional, the pricing I was quoted was outrageous, unjustifiable, and deeply unethical. Here is what I was quoted — after discounts and coupons: • $89.50 for oil and oil filter change • $89.50 for cabin air filter replacement • $49.90 for engine air filter replacement That is nearly $140 just to replace two basic air filters, a service that costs a fraction of that almost anywhere else. The original estimate before discounts was over $250, which is simply absurd. This kind of pricing is not just expensive — it feels predatory. I am a low-income customer, and it was obvious from my work uniform that I am not someone with high income. Instead of fair treatment, I was presented with extremely inflated prices that appear designed to take advantage of customers who may not be familiar with standard service costs. While waiting, I checked market pricing and quickly realized how unreasonable these charges were. I immediately canceled all services except the oil change. Even that alone was overpriced, but since my car is under warranty, I had no realistic alternative. This experience left me feeling taken advantage of, disrespected, and disappointed. A dealership representing a major brand like Kia should operate with honesty, transparency, and integrity, not with pricing tactics that push customers to the edge. I strongly urge management to review these practices. Experiences like this destroy customer trust and ensure I will think twice before returning — and before recommending this dealership to anyone. When I purchased the car they told I have pay the warranty service at the purchase time and after a month I can cancel and refund the amount I paid for this warranty service.
