I most recently had my car in for two recalls. They performed the recall service without a problem. As expected though, they recommended several hundred dollars worth of service I felt was not n They performed the recall service without a problem. As expected though, they recommended several hundred dollars worth of service I felt was not needed. I take my car to a local independent mechanic who I trust. I asked him about the service the dealer wanted to perform and of the three dealer recommended items, he advised that only one may be necessary which was replacing the brake fluid. Upon checking my brake fluid, he assured me that it was fine. AND, if I would have had my mechanic flush and replace the brake fluid, it would have been literally HALF the cost of the dealership. My mechanic does not have a cushy waiting area with a big screen TV, free popcorn and free soda but all I really want is to have my car serviced for what is truly needed and at a reasonable price. It's my belief that dealerships cant have the nice waiting areas with freebees if they don't upsell you on preventive maintenance that you probably don't need. More

My vehicle was towed in on the evening before the Hurricane. The drive belt was replaced, car was serviced and I was notified by 1PM that it was ready.
