Outstanding experience in every way. Bought a new vehicle from out of state during the Covid issues. Best and easiest new car purchase I’ve ever made. Price was excellent and everybody I worked with was very from out of state during the Covid issues. Best and easiest new car purchase I’ve ever made. Beware of Russell, one of the salespeople at the Koons Tyson’s Toyota dealership. I spoke to him at 11:30 a.m. about a specific car that was listed on the company’s website and inquired about coming to th Tyson’s Toyota dealership. I spoke to him at 11:30 a.m. about a specific car that was listed on the company’s website and inquired about coming to the dealership for a test drive. He confirmed it was still available and we made an appointment for a test drive at 1:00 p.m. Along with my wife and son, we started driving to the dealership which is about an hour from our house. At 12:30pm, when we were about halfway there, I got a text message from Russell saying that the car I had inquired about (a 2017 Toyota Avalon Hybrid with 35,000 miles) had been sold, but that there were “several other Avalons” he would “be happy to show me.” Bait and switch. Simple as that. Russell epitomizes the sleazy used car salesman. I will NEVER again deal with Koons Tyson’s Toyota dealership and I advise all potential buyers to beware of Russell and salespeople like him. Dishonest xxxx. More
Conned beyond any comprehension! These people are despicable first-class CON's and deceivers! STAY AWAY!!!! I am a long-term loyal customer of Toyota! I went to this branch to p These people are despicable first-class CON's and deceivers! STAY AWAY!!!! I am a long-term loyal customer of Toyota! I went to this branch to purchase a 2020 RAV4 for my daughter and pick up the SUV on the same day 02/29/2020, when I came across a 'CERTIFIED USED' 2019 Toyota Tundra with 4800 Miles, they had parked in front of their entrance. The similar BRAND NEW truck, 2020 Toyota Tundra was priced at 55K, even though this truck was listed for 52K with 4K miles on it, we agreed on 49K price with the 'General' Sales Manager "GSM", so I went on and completed the paper with the sales guy, while not being told that this vehicle was under a '2 SERIOUS MAJOR RECALLS' until the last minute when I sat down with the finance gentleman, who during the signing off asked me to sign off on bunch of paperwork on his DESK screen tablet, then a sales representative pulls in the office and asks me to 'sign off on additional paperwork because we missed some forms'. So I did go along to his desk and we signed off and all of the sudden every page that I signed had been marked using a pen and asked me to initial to waive their responsibility, which looked very fishy, so I confronted the sales representative Hu.. and told him this vehicle was supposed to be 'certified' and not under any 'Major recalls' list! His response was: "Koons have all the customers sign off on similar paperwork and this recall will be corrected when the manufacturers sends out notices"! BEAR IN MIND THIS ALL OCCURRED IN THE last MINUTES of my 6-7 HRS OF WAITING AROUND. So I went back to the Finance representative and kept on signing paperwork, when we reached the warranty portion, there was a clause describing this as USED 'CERTIFIED VEHICLE' and a deal reached with the GSM initially on the premise that this was practically a new vehicle with only 4K miles on it, as a certified vehicle. So, I stopped the finance representative and said wait a minute: "The sales representative that pulled me out of your office a few minutes ago had me sign paperwork that this vehicle is under several major recall, and does that make a certified vehicle!?" He responded: 'No way, he did, but the truck is shown here as a "Certified Vehicle"? This vehicle is fairly new', so he dug up some more paperwork and saw a CARFAX REPORT signed and initialed all over by Koons Sales Representative waiving liability, then he suggested to add extra coverage for free on top of the bogus maintenance plans he pitched and I fell for in the amount of $8K. I said that the reached prince agreement was based on the 'Certified' vehicle not a recall! The finance gentleman said: 'Therefore I am throwing an extra coverage free of charge on the top of your 80k for $3K". THIS ALL HAPPENED AT AROUND 10:15 PM ON A SATURDAY FEBRUARY 29TH! I was than given a thumb drive and not a single document, and drove off home... when I received the coupon payment, I am looking at the balance and the balance was about the same as the original balance of $49K, even though I put down a $15K down payment! So I asked my daughter for a laptop and told her to plug in the USB and review the sale agreement, and sure enough I found out that I was CONNED & SCAMMED with all kinds of useless maintenance plan for 'Wheels', and so on. ON THAT NOTE, I had her print out all the paperwork and rolled in to Koons Toyota and demanded that Toyota cancel all these plans and make good on the vehicle that was sold under the guise of being a "CERTIFIED VEHICLE". The finance representative was the same guy that had me sign off on all the plans originally and acknowledged that he had me buy useless coverages and that he added additional coverage for a vehicle that turned out to be on a recall rather than 'CERTIFIED VEHICLE' as agreed upon. The finance guy response was that: "I remember and no problem at all, as long as you get the GSM to agree to some sort of deal I have no problem backing you up", who at the time, the GSM's name was 'Warfa, who I confronted and sat in his office, while trying to neglect and refuse to own up to mistake 'intentional in my eyes', and suggested I call and speak to the General Manager "Amar Rana". I have called the GM Amar Rana, on three different occasions last week and left a lengthy voicemail with all the details explaining what occurred, he never called me back, therefore I called Toyota Corporate's "Customer Experience" and opened a ticket explaining the entire thing. The Customer Experience representative open a ticket number and stated that 'Customer Relations Manager from the branch will call you within a 24 to 48 hrs.’' It has been a week and I haven't received a call from the GM Amar Rana, or the Customer Relations Manager that this ticket was assigned to! I had to use my car, gas and time to take him I bought a car from you Thursday. You had a sales person deliver it my house with no way to return back. I had to use my car, gas and time to take him 30 minutes from my home and use my money to get him an urber back to your facility. I have called every day (5) since then and no one will return my call. The car has 3 large dents, a tire that does not hold air, no working radio, and rims that are tore up. ALL OF WHICH WERE NOT ADVERTISED!! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!! Every time I call, someone answers the phone "hello". Is this your house or a xxxx business??? Do NOT buy silver 2017 Toyota 86 VIN: JF1ZNAA14H9706438! They sold me this vehicle with illegal emissions equipment, a VIN flagged with Toyota of America, no warranties, and yet it was listed as certified p They sold me this vehicle with illegal emissions equipment, a VIN flagged with Toyota of America, no warranties, and yet it was listed as certified pre-owned. They lied and said they would take it to arbitration. I got the price down to 18.5k I returned it, and it's back up for sale in the same condition with the same mileage and CPO offer. Buy this, and you could end up with a $2,500 fine for all the aftermarket illegal work done to the car. Sam, Warfa, and Jeff (used car manager) will lie their way out of anything. Edward is really cool, though, and facilitated my exchange. I repeat DO NOT BUY JF1ZNAA14H9706438 unless you want someone's used track toy packed with illegal equipment. More
Just, NO. Save your $ Terrible. Let me give some background. Late last year, I purchased a car from Koons (or rather my bank did, since I'm financing). Several things- Terrible. Let me give some background. Late last year, I purchased a car from Koons (or rather my bank did, since I'm financing). Several things- 1) Whenever I needed anything, it would be a HASSLE trying to find the right person to get the job DONE. They would make up excuses, and not find the correct answer to questions before attempting to pacify me, and send me off. I'm pretty sure no one actually communicates at this location (or any large dealership, really). 2) It took them 3 months to get the right documentation in order to give the title to my bank & have hard plates sent to me. When I asked about either of these, they would tell me it takes a while and wait. A while FINE, but 3 MONTHS? 3) They left me driving on expired temporary plates, because my hard plates were expected to come in later that week. This really isn't an excuse, because cops in VA really don't care. They WILL pull ya over, or tow ya. I call and directly ask for the GM. I'm told my plates will be sent out in the AM. Later that day (at around 6 pm) someone calls me and says "is this your right address?" Which is good and fine, but I was told the plates would be sent that MORNING, so I should already have my plates in hand. Well, I've got to wait another day, don't I? 4) I changed my name (marriage), and since I'm financing the car, DMV couldn't make the change for my registration. Koons was literally the only one who could. I call, and was told they ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT change my name on the vehicle registration, because they've already sent one out. A month later, what do I get in the mail? You guessed it, my updated registration. It's almost like you HAVE to update important documents like that, Koons. I'm assuming everyone else had positive experiences with this dealership because they are 1) purchasing an expensive car and 2) financing with them. I did neither, so I wasn't a priority, and they showed that. More
Would never recommend this place. -Lease payments and Would never recommend this place. -Lease payments and interest rates offered by dealership were ridiculous so I decided to go with my own financing Would never recommend this place. -Lease payments and interest rates offered by dealership were ridiculous so I decided to go with my own financing which cut my interest rate in half. -Scheduled an appointment to purchase the car 4 days after it got to the lot. It had damage to the bumper, preowned certification wasn't complete, and car wasn't cleaned. -Took 5 hours to purchase the car. Dealership printer for paper tags wouldn't work so I had to go back the next day after being there until 11:30 pm. -Finance guy continued to ignore my personal financing and tried to lock me in at a rate of 6.99% (which is even higher than what they originally told me). Literally had to yell at him for it to finally get changed. -Finance guy used my info without my knowledge to pull additional credit reports for himself (dealership still refuses to correct this) -Took car back a week later for them to detail it and fix the bumper. They can't do bodywork when it rains so the car stayed there for almost a week even though it was raining when I dropped it off and the weather forecast made it clear it was going to keep raining. Car was still not detailed. -Found out that they never completed an emissions test on the car so it was not able to be registered without taking it back for them to complete one. Service people were super rude when I reported this and did not want to pull up the car's record until a manager was present -Forced to call auto insurance at the service window to confirm my deductible before I could get a loaner car. -They removed an accessory when fixing the bumper and thought it was okay not to replace it. Had to take it back again for them to replace it and get it detailed (since it wasn't done the first two times it was requested) -Could still see dirt on the steering wheel after their third detailing attempt. Used store-bought leather cleaner and it came right off. (don't waste your money on their detailing services) If you don't know what to ask or what to look out for, they will definitely try to take advantage of that. More
Predatory Lending - Beware Underrepresented Communities The simplest definition of predatory lending is financing that imposes high interest rates or overly restrictive loan condition. This is exactly what The simplest definition of predatory lending is financing that imposes high interest rates or overly restrictive loan condition. This is exactly what Koons Toyota Vienna & their finance department thrives on, i.e. attempting to pass on a 13.5% Interest rate to someone with a fair credit. Additionally, as a predator lender, Koons tries to get as much money upfront as they can because their payment terms are so difficult to manage, they know it probably won’t be long before the car payments can't be made and the car is repossessed. Lastly, 'conscious' bias was evident in Luis Castillo & Kay from Finance - where two "high school" graduates are pontificating on Virginia laws & "educating" working professionals about credit worthiness. The net net - AVOID AT ALL COST, especially if you're an IMMIGRANT, a group they prey on. More
21-Yr Multi-Car Customer Having HORRIBLE Service Experience Just bought my 8th car from Koons Tysons at the end of November 2019. All great car salespeople and great convenient service when needed over 21 year Just bought my 8th car from Koons Tysons at the end of November 2019. All great car salespeople and great convenient service when needed over 21 years. Now, I brought my new Highlander in three weeks ago. The radio went out completely. When I was called to the desk thinking I would get checked out and the car fixed, Brian said they could NOT fix the radio. They tried everything they knew and now they would have to "contact Toyota to see what they wanted to do." I asked what what does that mean? He said he didn't know, just that he'd have to contact Toyota. This was Saturday and he said they were closed and he'd have to call them on Monday. He said they had one other situation like mine and all he could say was, these units are on back order. He was short with his responses and offered nothing helpful. He was getting short with me. I was rather shocked. I waited for two weeks. Nothing. I called him on the following Tuesday. He apologized and said he would 'get his technician to contact Toyota'???? and would get right back with me. Nothing. A week later, I called and left a message for Customer Relations. Nothing. Here it is week four, I called and they gave me the "Service Bay Manager" yesterday morning. He said he would call me back within a half-hour. Almost 24 hours and here I am waiting. I don't know what is happening, but this is bizarre treatment from a company I have praised and recommended to many others who have bought from them for the quality and past service is a complete disappointment. I will update this review depending upon how this situation is handled. More
