I had had the same car for way too long. It had gotten to a point that I was being nickled and dimed just to continue operating it. One morning during my drive to work in rush hour traffic, a loud crack, snap, and clunk that wouldn't go away let me know that it was no longer safe to drive. A friend had recommended I visit Andrew Hatch at LaFontaine in Dexter. He had given me Andrew's cell phone number and told me that I could trust him with whatever I needed in regards to my car search. I was tired of feeling pressured, uneasy, unsure, and left with lots of questions at other dealerships I had been to in the past. So I called. I have to mention that I called Andrew early in the morning, BEFORE he was even at work. I told him that I had an important meeting that day and that I needed to find a car that I liked, could afford, and could drive off the lot same day so I could make my meeting. He was so nice and accommodating and told me he would be ready and waiting to help me find exactly what I wanted. Since I hadn't planned on going car shopping, I didn't even know where to start. Andrew asked the right questions to narrow down my search. He then patiently waited as I test drove car after car trying to determine which was the best one for me. He answered all the questions I had and was always honest and straightforward, even if the answer wasn't what I wanted to hear. I really appreciated that because it's an honesty that is rarely found when car shopping. He wasn't just trying to sell a car or collect a paycheck. He was really getting to know me and was focused on making sure that I was happy and satisfied. I'm not someone who rushes into things, so even though I was in a hurry to make my end of day meeting, I took my time at the dealership. Andrew spent nearly the entire day with me and helped me finally decide on a 2013 Chevy Malibu Eco. I was afraid it would be out of my price range, but Andrew helped me there too. He got me a great deal, worked with the finance department to get me an incredible rate, and put the payments right in my affordable range. But the best part of the service that he provided wasn't the fact that he did all these things, or that he took the last 30 minutes I was there to explain all the gadgets and gizmos in the car. It's the fact that it has been about 2 weeks since I bought my car, and I've called and contacted him no less than 4 times with more questions---things that happen that I want answers to, or questions I forgot to ask when I originally purchased. Andrew is always available and happy to help me. And he assures me I'm not being bothersome. He is passionate about cars and wants to make sure I really enjoy mine. I have never been happier with a car purchase or a dealership than I am with Andrew and all the folks at LaFontaine. I will NEVER go anywhere else...Andrew and LaFontaine will ALWAYS have my business, now and many years into the future. More
We have purchased from this dealership in the past and had a wonderful experience. So we did not hesitate to contact them again for a new vehicle. Since our previous salesperson is no longer with the co had a wonderful experience. So we did not hesitate to contact them again for a new vehicle. Since our previous salesperson is no longer with the company we decided to start with there website. While looking over the website we were asked if we needed any assistance. After chatting with online person we had a better idea of what vehicle we were looking for and decided to fill out the finance application. After three days of no contact from the dealership I decided to go back online. I was looking to see if there was any information on the status of our application and a phone to contact the dealership. Once again the customer service rep came on and I explained that we wanted to purchase a vehicle and had already submitted all of our contact info and filled out the finance application. They informed me they would have someone contact us. After another day of nothing I decided to call the dealership again I explained what I have done so far and that I am just waiting for a sales person to contact me. We live an hour from the dealership and in the past purchases have always done as much as possiable over the phone, email, and fax. Finally Keith Davey called and all he kept saying was when you come here we can figure out what you want or what works for you. My husband called the next day to see if he could talk to someone and get some more answers before driving out there. He spoke with Shadrick Bennett. Shadrick informed my husband that Robert Halfacre was our salesperson and would be contacting us. Again we wait. At this point a week has gone by and all the contact we have had with dealership is the times we are calling asking for someone to sell us a car. I sent an email to delaership stating that we are eager to purchase a new car please contact us. We immediatly got a call from Robert. My husband and robert spoke about what we were looking for and our personal information to get this satarted. The next day Robert called us again to give us some rough numbers on how much to put down and monthly payment. My husband told him that it was higher than expected and we would have to think about it. The next day Robert called again to say that he had a few more discounts and has an amount that is closer to what we were looking for. Again my husband called him back and left him a message that we are interested and when could we come by. It has been 4 days and Robeert has yet to call back. Today I called Robert, Keith, and Shadrick through out the day and only got voicemail. So I left Shadrick a voicemail stating that if they want to sell us a vehicle we just need a call back. About a half hour later Keith called and to say he was irritated and annoyed is an understatement. He had no interest in selling us a vehicle and when my husband inquired about the new pricing it had more than tripled. Shadrick should have called back today instead of passing the buck to Keith. Keith has no customer service skills and has no interest in hearing what you have to say, he just likes the sound of his own voice. When Keith speaks he is condescending and rude. Robert was given a sale on silver platter and still couldn't close the deal. More

I started off talking with Mr. Walt Sulesky, and worked with Mr. Steve Taylor and they were extremely helpful and relatable. I went to several dealerships and did some pretty hard shopping, and no other dealers compared to the treatment I got at LaFontaine. I knew I was going to buy the car from them just because of their personality and when they came back with an awesome monthly payment, it was a deal meant to be. Mr. Sulesky was above and beyond kind in his approach and I never felt any sort of pressure at any point during the process. I honestly did not expect the car buying experience to be so easy, and other salesmen at other dealerships were either rude or very pushy, especially because of my age and this being my first new car. However, right from the start Mr. Sulesky came outside to greet me while I was looking at cars. It was 8 degrees Fahrenheit by the way. The entire time he was very respectful, very nice and listened to what I was looking for and what the reason for buying was. I needed a simple, reliable vehicle that got awesome gas mileage and wasn't a monthly payment that would kill me. I ended up walking away with a 2013 Chevy Cruze Eco. The guys at LaFontaine have definitely gained a lifetime customer, I will always come back to them for a new or used vehicle. Their facility is beautiful, very clean and very welcoming, and I never felt like I was just another sale to them, I could hold a good conversation and relate to them. It was very nice to have salesmen that acted like real people, not robots who sell cars and don't care about much else. I should hope the owner of LaFontaine will read this, because I will always come back, and I will especially come talk to Walt Sulesky and Steve Taylor. They respectively earned my business, they did it the right way. More

I left there and decided to try LaFontaine. What a difference! Everyone was welcoming the minute we stepped in the door. We were introduced to Dale and he did not question why I wanted to look at used vehicles; I felt good about that, not being pushed at all. He showed me some used online, and I test drove one. Then I asked him about new vs used and lease. He ran all the numbers, reviewed the options, and I considered the numbers for a day. I went back and bought a NEW car from Dale because the numbers made sense to me. He was never pushy, very friendly and spent lots of time working with me. Then I met Steve for the financing part - again a great experience! I bought a new Malibu and am thrilled with it and the dealership. When I'm ready to buy again, I'll contact Dale! More

I recently purchased through Robert Halfacre a new 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ. Robert assisted me to locate the Tahoe after an initial search for a crew cab pick-up. My interest in a pick-up was redirected Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ. Robert assisted me to locate the Tahoe after an initial search for a crew cab pick-up. My interest in a pick-up was redirected by my spouse who advised she would prefer to have an SUV. Robert willingly received this change in direction and promptly provided the search for a Tahoe with specifications we provided. The sale included the trade-in of a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse. I was introduced to Steve Taylor for financing, which included an excellent interest rate for a 60-month contract. All requirements to complete the transaction were clearly presented. My experience in the showroom was cordial and informative. Robert is very knowledgeable about the Chevrolet truck product line and addressed all questions regarding specifications, such as trailering capability and rated fuel economy as a function of axle ratio. Vehicles were brought to the front door of the dealership for my inspection with his explanation of features. The reviews were complete, courteous, and presented with confidence. Electrical equipment was demonstrated by feature. Robert matched me up with the vehicle of choice. Robert was very proud of the new, eco-friendly dealership as we toured the facility. He explained the lighting system through the skylights, usage of vegetable oil in the hydraulics of the service hoists, and water recovery/reuse from the car wash and drain systems. Other employees in the parts department and cashier window were introduced who conveyed a friendly reception and "family" spirit. Robert gave me a thorough "walk-about" of the Tahoe when I took delivery January 16, 2013. A stone shield had been installed per my order. All interior equipment, including electronics, were reviewed, demonstrated, and my personal settings entered. Robert was familiar with every aspect of the truck. Our "LaFontaine family" fleet now includes a 2012 Buick Verano purchased at LaFontaine-Highland and the new, 2012 Chevy Tahoe. I elected to drive 25-minutes to LaFontaine-Dexter as opposed to searching for a local dealership in Brighton based upon the positive experience through "the Family Deal". I encountered this dealer from a direct mailer. i reviewed their web site and on line let them know i was interested in a new truck purchase. Within a day they contacted me to see how they could help. No pressure to sell or get more information was made and the low pressure approach was welcome after visiting with other dealerships. Ultimately my choice to work with LaFontaine was made since they listened to what i wanted and found the vehicle, as opposed to the other dealers trying to sell me what they had. I would recommend this dealership and will visit them again when looking for another vehicle. More

Well, James curtis pick out a car for me 98,000 miles on and says to me this is your girl friend car since your credit isnt as good and you can come back in year to get the malibu financed after I paid my pmyts on 2007 Mitsibishi with 98,000 miles and financed for 23,0000 dollars as according to keith brothers as well. I really believed they would agree to let me get the malibu 2009. Well I have been making my pmts on time and have proof for them in the last year or more. It turns out they lied to me and sold me a car with way too many miles for 23,000 dollars. I am angry and disappointed at these two rip offs. I called them in July 2012 to make appointment and they never called me back .I had the car fixed from a mild drunk driver on the front bumper. Overall, Keith Brothers and James Curtis stiffed me a car that could go under in sometime while I am still paying pmts of 430.49/month. I would not recommend these people ever again to buy a car from again. I know people who had their cars financed with repo history and still managed to get a new car with less miles. I had only missed a few pmts on a previous financed car and Keith Brothers and James curtis used this against me. WHAT BULL. IM AM ANGRY Mr. Gerald Poprawa. More

Not only did Mike get me exactly what I wanted, he returned every call and was very prompt on his emails. I was sold on the dealership as soon as I spoke with him the first time. I have a very hectic schedule and Mike made arrangements for my test drive without even walking into the dealership...very impressed!
