Repairs Recently, my wife and I were returning home from Texas when we had a problem with our '13 Tundra just outside Lake City. Not wanting to be stranded b Recently, my wife and I were returning home from Texas when we had a problem with our '13 Tundra just outside Lake City. Not wanting to be stranded by the highway, we immediately set course for the nearest Toyota store, which was Roundtree-Moore. It was later in the afternoon but they immediately took the truck into the shop and began servicing it. BTW, there was no check engine light and, therefore, no computer codes to assist. By about 4:00. maybe 4:15, the service advisor, Michael, told us the mechanic, their No. 1 guy, had diagnosed the problem to be a bad fuel pump. $1,159. But it was so late in the day, we'd have to stay overnight. The trip's purpose was to pickup a new camper in Rice, Texas and Roundtree-Moore was gracious enough to allow us to stay in our camper on the lot overnight waiting for the repair the next day. Michael and the Acquisitions Manager both took time to offer valet, suggest best nearby restaurants and offer other assurances. They both went out of their way to inform us and make us comfortable. Kudos to them both. However...next day, repair was completed by 9:30 and we were on the road soon thereafter only to reach Kingsland, GA, buy fuel and the same problem arose again. I immediately called my local mechanic, started describing the issue and, before I could finish, he diagnosed the problem as a stuck purge valve, a relatively inexpensive fix. Said he'd seen it many times with Toyotas. To be fair, the fuel pump checked at about 3/4 correct output so there was a problem-in-the-waiting there but it wasn't THE problem. Long story short...Roundtree-Moore impressed as a great dealership with professional and courteous staff. I'd be happy to purchase a vehicle there. But, in our case, the service department proved inadequate. I can't recommend service department since I spent so much and the problem was not be resolved. More
