He was a very nice salesman, who didn't "push" or annoy us into buying a car before we were ready. He seemed very honest with us. More

All of the Braeger Dealerships participate in the DealerRater.com Certified Dealer Program. We are committed to providing high quality customer service, but based on your DealerRater.com review, you did not share that experience. That is very disappointing to us, and through this program we have the opportunity to work with you to resolve any issues with your experience at our dealership. I can truly understand your frustration, transitioning to a new state, car breaks down, etc., but regardless of circumstances, we are legally bound by the: -Federal Trade Commission (FTC) -Consumer Protection Act -Gramm-Leach Bliley Act (GLB) -USA Patriot Act -Red Flags Rule ...to verify & protect our customers private & personal information. By your own addmission, you: -are a newbie to Wisconsin -don't have a local bank -don't have a Wisconsin Drivers License -are driving on a restricted license -the remitter on the cashiers check was in a friends name -have a temporary license that does not have your picture on it. The reason you had no issues with the other dealer, is not because we don't know what we are doing, it's because they were not compliant with the Federal laws that dealerships are legally bound to uphold. They did not excersize resonable care when it came to protecting or verifying consumer personal information, nor were they Red Flag Compliant. Don't get me wrong, I am truly happy that you got a great rate and a great vehicle...but I am asking that you reconsider your position regarding your experience at Braeger. We take our customers private information very seriously...if it were me, I would be very happy that there are dealerships out there like ours, putting customers needs and identitly protection in front of just another car sale. Again, thank you for your time, and congratulations on your new vehicle! Repectfully Jason Enders VP, Braeger Automotive Group

I am sorry but you are wrong that the other dealership is not Red Flag Compliant. I had several documents with me to still be able to comply with the laws. I took those documents to Braeger too, including a check stub showing my Wisconsin address, the DMV copy of the WI state ID with photo(it is unfortunate that WI sends the info to CA to be laminated on a card and mailed so I just didn't have the card yet), I couldn't use the cashier's check Kyle told me I needed since it was made out to Braeger but the other dealership accepted my personal check, I had my insurance card, the temporary restricted license I have is a legal document and I proved I am that person with my passport. I had the documents necessary for the paper trail to be compliant. Braeger needs to get better educated on the laws. You didn't address the fact that my girlfriend offered to pay with a personal check for the vehicle and wait until Monday when your dealership could verify the check was good. She has a valid IL license with photo and was trying to help me out as I had no vehicle!

Thanks for your response...we truly appreciate your input. Unfortunatley, there are very specific rules governing the Red Flags Compliance, Gramm-Leach Bliley Act, Consumer Protection Act, Frank-Dodd Wall Street Reform Act, USA Patriot Act, etc. on how to handle address discrepancy issues and other personal identification verification. After reviewing your deal with my sales & finance team, I believe they acted in the best interest of you, the consumer and us, Braeger. After all, we were the ones not selling a car. What would we have to gain by not delivering the car...that's how we all get paid! If you don't mind, I would like to refer your transaction to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. They have an investigator assigned to our area, and I have met with the agent a few months back. A complete review of your transaction and documents would certainly help clear up this misunderstanding for us...fair enough? Thanks again Jason Enders Braeger Auto
