I was absolutely loyal to Land Rover but my trust has eroded and I am frustrated with the Land Rover of Alexandria Dealership overall. I have to say that this was the only brand that I decided I would g eroded and I am frustrated with the Land Rover of Alexandria Dealership overall. I have to say that this was the only brand that I decided I would get from now on but over the years, a few things (spoiler was cracked or exchanged while in service, Land Rover app stopped working but they continued to collect money from me for years, etc.) have happened which started my distrust in Land Rover--not once, except for this last time (because I refused to pay $15,000 this time) have I come in and only had to pay for an oil change or just the regularly required maintenance. Since the purchase of the car, I have paid an average of $2,700 every year until a little over a year ago when I had to pay almost $7,000 for the loss of power/timing issue and had to bring the car back almost immediately because it was not serviced properly and they tried to charge me more when it was their problem. Fast forward to now and I am told that there are turbo issues due to a crack and the timing cover needs to be resealed and it makes me wonder if that was my original issue or was the crack caused by the servicing of the vehicle. All in all, I now feel that I can no longer trust Land Rover of Alexandria or the reliability of any Land Rover vehicle. I have spoken with an independent Technician who told me to stop sinking money into this car so I will now start looking for a different brand of vehicle. I have had a conversation to make both the General Manager and the Service Manager aware of my distrust issues (to protect others) and they both assured me that trust issues would not be tolerated at their Dealership. New to a 2017 xxTYPE that needed a new battery, they were able to pull me in on a weekend and resolve the problem. Also let me know about a TSB that was needed. I will be back. I’m fairly new to Land Rover community. I’ve been a BMW (mostly), Mercedes and Cadillac customer and part of those communities I’m thoroughly impressed by Land Rover,Alexandria’s profession I’ve been a BMW (mostly), Mercedes and Cadillac customer and part of those communities I’m thoroughly impressed by Land Rover,Alexandria’s professionalism and service. I worked with Ash this time and Kevin another time. Looks like all the service advisors are excellent. I even met the service manager who was extremely helpful. I’m enjoying myself over here. We had to have my wife’s 2026 Velar towed to the dealership for a leaking and loose coolant hose. Ou service rep Melvin was extraordinary, He was professional in his approach in dealing with us, he dealership for a leaking and loose coolant hose. Ou service rep Melvin was extraordinary, He was professional in his approach in dealing with us, he informed us about the issue, and when it would be repaired. He offered us a loaner vehicle which we did accept because of the speediness in which the repair would be complete. Once complete he ordered us an Uber to the delearship to pick up the vehicle and explained in detail the work that was performed. The next day he called us to see if the vehicle was performing well because we had told him we were going out of town the next day. We appreciated his attentiveness, professionalism and thoroughness in resolving our issue. More
