I had my Range Rover Sport serviced at Land Rover Greensboro (Flow Automotive) and was required to prepay a $500 diagnostic before they would touch it. Not more than a day later they said they would Greensboro (Flow Automotive) and was required to prepay a $500 diagnostic before they would touch it. Not more than a day later they said they would need to do an additional diagnostic because the technician couldn't complete the first one within the allotted time. They said that would be another 500 dollars. Before I approved any repair, the service department confirmed in writing that my prepaid diagnostic would be applied to the repair. On that promise, I approved a TCU replacement quoted in writing at $2,359. When I received the final repair order, the TCU had been billed at $2,909, $550 more than the price I approved in writing. No one called me. No one asked for my authorization. The dealership then claimed my credit had been "fully applied." In reality, the unapproved price increase absorbed it. When I raised this, the General Manager ignored the written promise and first tried to argue the hours had been labeled differently. He then ultimately denied any refund and said "what do you expect my employees to work for pennies." At that point I escalated to Flow corporate and was told no refund would be issued because the technician "worked too hard." I then emailed Flow's CEO and COO directly with every document: the written promise, the approved quote, the service text messages and the final invoice. No response. I have now filed a complaint with the North Carolina Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. Flow markets itself as an ethical, customer-first company. That was not my experience. A written promise was broken, a price I approved was quietly raised, and when I pushed back, every level of the company, from the service department to the General Manager to corporate to the executive team, chose to defend the bill instead of honoring their word. If a dealership will do this to a customer over $550, I would not trust it with anything bigger. Stay far away from Land Rover Greensboro and Flow Automotive. Take your vehicle, and your money, somewhere that honors what they tell their customers and what they put in writing. More
