The service people go out of their way to be helpful. I needed a service and smog test but discovered they cannot do a star smog test. I took my Land Rover to Rocklin Land Rover for a recall. They performed that recall and when I was advised that the car was complete, I was told that the two crossover pipes (cooling hoses) needed attention They performed that recall and when I was advised that the car was complete, I was told that the two crossover pipes (cooling hoses) needed attention. The rear one was leaking and the front one was older and needed to be replaced. Before I went I checked the prices of the two parts from Land Rover (approx. $200). When I arrived at Landrover I was presented with a picture of the rear pipe leak. When I questioned why there was no liquid showing or anti freeze on the ground I was told it was evaporating and not making it to the ground. They told me for only $1895 dollars they would replace both crossover pipes. Basically they wanted to charge me $1650 in labor for a two hour job (that was what I learned from the internet and a little research). Needless to say I did not accept the repair, took it to another reputable mechanic who told me there was no leak and no need to replace either part. Very sad that a dealer would try and take advantage of any customer but I am sure there have been others before me that would have believed the dealer claims and spent money they didn't need to spend based on trust. I would suggest that you hold this dealership accountable when they suggest a repair and do your research before you entrust them to do any work on your vehicle. More
