Mat Wells is an exceptional employee and was very helpful to me today after I questioned the service department's recommendation that I replace all 4 tires due to excessive wear. Essentially, the Yokahama Av to me today after I questioned the service department's recommendation that I replace all 4 tires due to excessive wear. Essentially, the Yokahama Avid GT tires wore out at 18,818 on my 2021 Subaru Outback that I bought new from your dealership. I have regularly maintained my Subaru at your service department, rotated tires, etc, and am a 73 year old conservative female driver. Yokahama would not honor their product saying that the tires were not covered under warranty due to being the original tires on the car. The person I (and Mat Wells) spoke with at Yokahama, Dee, gave some additional vague reasons why there was no warranty. It appears they only warranty subsequent tires purchased after the original tires need to be replaced. The replacement tires have a 65,000 mile warranty on the very same Yokahama tires which is ridiculous. I believe Subaru needs to take action to correct this problem so I have submitted a claim with Subaru. I have never had a set of tires, with no history of damage, that needed to be replaced at anything close to 18,818 miles. Most good tires, as you know, last at 50-60,000 miles. These tires are defective. While I think Yokahama is responsible for the tires they sell, they have absolutely refused to replace them. Subaru needs to back their vehicles and make this right. I have been a very happy Subaru owner and have been very impressed with your service department, but I am not at all happy if I have to pay roughly $1100 to replace the tires and have them aligned on a car with such low mileage.
