We called regarding a vehicle that was listed online without a price. Discussed the vehicle in detail with a sales person, and was quoted a price over the phone and was told they were extremely negotiab without a price. I told salesperson my price range and they assured me they were extremely negotiable and to schedule an appt. After an hour of small talk I was finally given pricing information. The stated vehicle was 6K over the quoted price, there was no haggle room, and they couldn't tell me what they came up with for my trade or financing options. After asking for my keys it was realized my keys were locked in with the manager. It became a series of "let me go talk to my manager" each time I asked for my keys back. We finally had to demand our keys back in the lobby. Had the dealer been upfront about their pricing to begin with, we'd have known the payment options would be out of our range for a used vehicle. We were lied to just to get us into the door, and then our keys held hostage. Come to find out - this happens quite a lot. I've been talking to several dealers in the last few weeks as we are not in a rush to purchase and waiting for the right vehicle to come along - and was NEVER treated like I was at Kia. I'll stick to the local tamaqua Ford and Dodge dealers - my keys were returned immediately after my car was looked at, and pricing was upfront and they provided me with their terms. More
