I was in Birmingham yesterday at the Lexus of Birmingham dealership where there were suppose to have a lot of Lexus ES and RX's and after driving 4 hours to get there only one of the ES were available to lo dealership where there were suppose to have a lot of Lexus ES and RX's and after driving 4 hours to get there only one of the ES were available to look at and they had to jump start it and only two RX's available off the site and I liked one for $37,995 but they played games with my trade-in offering 4,000 below Kbb lowest price and I had to drive 4 hours back home last night getting in at 10pm. I decided it's to far to drive to play games at dealerships 4 hours away. I was met by a saleman that didn't seem to interested in my business and waited around for 3 hours to finally get help. Worse experience I've had at a dealership and was excited about becoming a Lexus owner. More
My wife and I went to test drive a used Lexus nx that was advertised on their website. After driving it, we decided to buy it. That’s when the trouble started. It took almost an hour to finally meet with the finance manager. When we did, he did the usual attempt to cross sell - all declined. Then, he was condescending to my wife, until he realized we were paying down $11.5k. He gave us an exhorbenet interest rate and didn’t understand basic finance. I’ve been a banker for 25 years and was appalled at the lack of knowledge of a finance MANAGER. we were preapproved for 2% less than the rate they quoted, but they wanted to “see what they could do”. It was quickly apparent that they saw us as a sale that they could use and abuse. So, we left. I’ll be ordering a Lexus for less $, with lower miles at a lower interest rate online. No more Lexus of Birmingham. More

Have been trying for 2days to speak to someone in service . Just get.voice mail and they do not call back. Have been driving Lexus for at least 18 years. Will not deal with these people again. Worse customer service ever! I contacted Sonic, Dba Lexus of Birmingham last week to inquire about a 2015 Lexus GS 350 F Sport that I saw online. My experience has been by far th I contacted Sonic, Dba Lexus of Birmingham last week to inquire about a 2015 Lexus GS 350 F Sport that I saw online. My experience has been by far the worse ever by a dealership. The initial outreach was through the online form, which I never received a reply. I followed-up with a call and was immediately transferred to a sales rep. He answered my initial questions, and I conveyed to him that I resided in Huntsville and could not make it to Birmingham until the following weekend to purchase the vehicle, due to work and other obligations. However, I did offer to make a deposit, because the Lexus was exactly what I have been in the market for. After attempting to fill out the credit form online, there was an error which did not allow me to submit the form. I Immediately called Lexus of Birmingham to speak with someone in the finance department, no one answered the phone. I called back and spoke to someone in sales again. The gentleman told me to hold while he transferred my call, but once again no one answered. Yesterday the 19th I called again to see what the issue was, and no answer again. I reached out to the sales assistant via email, since she was the only one responsible enough to engage by sending me a folder with the Carfax details and service records of the Lexus. May I also mention that the information sent by Chelsea was for the incorrect vehicle that I was interested in. My outreach was to have her find someone in finance or sales to give me a call. But of course, no reply was granted either. I’m really frustrated to find out that the car was sold on yesterday. I wanted to inform you that Lexus of Birmingham has by far the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. Typically, a follow-up is guaranteed by a commissioned salesman. Thanks, More

They present the dealership in a way that screams, "it is YOUR pleasure to be here!". We have worked with two nice salespeople, both of which are no longer there. Of the three times, we ended up purchasing a BMW, Mercedes, and Toyota LandCruiser. The brand has a reputation for reliability and comfort, two things that you would find better at your local Waffle House than at this dealership. More

While at the car, I asked how much the dealer fee was and he said "$798 - but it's usually around $1200 in Atlanta". We're not in Atlanta. And in my multiple Atlanta purchases I've never paid an $800+ dealer fee, let alone $1,200....but apparently it's commonplace according to him. He then explained that this dealership is a 'one price' dealership - "...just like Carmax". He really said that. But if they just want to be a Carmax, then what's the deal with an $800 dealer fee? I told him I probably wasn't interested based on the inflated, non-negotiable price combined with the $800 and that was out of market. As we're getting out of the car, he looks to me and says "We're not paid on commissions here, just straight salary. So it doesn't really matter to me if I sell this car or not." I was beyond amazed. Why is he sharing his unsolicited compensation plan with me?? I didn't say anything else, just said good bye and thought to myself 'how does this place stay in business?". More
Buyer Beware - Stay Away@! This is my third Lexus and my LAST one that I will ever buy at Lexus of Birmingham - Sonic Automotive!! I had bought 3 other vehicles when it was Tom This is my third Lexus and my LAST one that I will ever buy at Lexus of Birmingham - Sonic Automotive!! I had bought 3 other vehicles when it was Tom William's and it was a pleasant experience and i always recommended them to everyone but NEVER again! I purchased a used Lexus ES350 and the dash was messed up. AC not blowing cold and bad rotors .... was promised by salesman they would fix these things and the dash was under a recall so it would be replaced. We would've never purchased the car if these problems couldn't be fixed! Come to find out the recall was over a month earlier so they 'painted' over the big hole! They charged my AC 3 times and said it wasn't leaking and had no problem that they could find although drivers side blew hot and passenger was cooler. Nobody would ever return our calls from salesman, service dept/service manager or general manager! Five months later my AC is being repaired by someone else to the tune of 3000 dollars!!! Dash had to be removed to fix AC so at that time we found out dash was melted and had to be taken apart in pieces! Although Lexus had 3 egGaryxtra dashes at dealership for recall that would not even return our calls for us to buy one from them! Now to the rotors .... service department said they were fine and it must have happened after purchase!!!! Went elsewhere for all four brakes and rotors too for another grand! Needless to say my 'great deal' per salesman quickly turned into a horrible deal and nightmare! What a shame since I really LOVE the quality of a Lexus. Just say NO to Lexus of Birmingham and the new Mercedes dealership will probably have many new customers because they care and will treat you as a customer should be treated!! More
