Ms. Schwartz, The imperfection on the bumper was something that without question should have been addressed prior to presenting the vehicle for repair, and we apologize that this was the case. With that being said, we repair bumpers for countless certified vehicles in order to be certain that they are presented in the best possible way. Even though our certified vehicles are pre-owned, we still take the necessary steps to ensure they are in excellent cosmetic condition. With respect, the statement that "There was no way to fix this number without replacing it" is not accurate. We, and all Lexus dealers repair bumpers on our vehicles daily, and they are restored to perfect shape, which is what we offered to do for you as well. John and Justin also at no time suggested that you "pay over $1,500 more" for the vehicle. That number was provided to demonstrate the cost of a new bumper, not to ask that you absorb that number. Again, we would have been happy to repair that bumper, dealer warranty that repair, and deliver the vehicle to you as soon as it was completed. Brad, I was told by an independent Lexus tech that the only way to fix that bumper properly was to replace it as it is a plastic bumper. Justin told me that the cost would be $1529 to replace it and that he could not eat the cost. Wilkie Lexus in Haverford, PA would have replaced it without hesitation. I called Lexus Brand Engagement and told them how this played out and they said I was correct. Certified cars should not have a dent in the bumper. "The 161-point inspection requires that the body be free of dents and that the bumpers be free of cuts, gouges and scratches." I made a deal with your dealership, and it was not honored. I suspect now you will fix the bumper in your sub-suggested way and then sell it to some unsuspecting buyer. Shame on you. This is not what Lexus stands for.

Ms. Schwartz, I am in agreement that the issue should have been addressed prior to the vehicle being offered for sale, however I can assure you, we are allowed, as all dealers are, to repair bumpers on Lexus Certified vehicles. I have been with Lexus for over 20 years, and fully understand the standards for certification. It is not beneficial to state what Wilkie would do under certain circumstances, however they, like our dealer, would be allowed to repair that bumper, and based on the condition of that bumper and understanding this aspect of our business, it is more likely that bumper would be repaired than replaced. I can also assure you that all Lexus dealerships perform bumper repairs on vehicles they offer as pre-owned, and again, are fully allowed to do so by Lexus so long as the integrity of the component is not compromised, which in our case it most certainly would not be. The point is certainly correct, our dealer should have addressed it prior, but with respect, We are aware of what Lexus allows for certification, and we follow those guidelines exactly as they are set. We have never once been accused of performing any certification on any Lexus vehicle that would be deemed improper. You are welcome to contact Lexus Corporate Customer Satisfaction as you have done and ask if any of the information I have provided is untrue.

Ms. Rodriguez, Certainly, when a request is made for a test drive, not only should it be honored right away, but we encourage those test drives, as our guests know exactly what they are listening for, which helps our team tremendously. Carlos did not ignore you, I assure you, he simply made a mistake, and certainly should not have. You drove with Scott, who personally oversaw the replacement of the parts that he promised to. We do not state that parts will be replaced and then refuse to do so. Your components were still under a parts warranty, so the team and dealer is paid by the manufacturer to replace them. To not replace those parts would be very unethical, which we certainly are not. We believed that the issue was addressed, as you mentioned that it was quiet for a time, which means that it was quiet after the repairs were completed.
