I moved from Maryland, Rockville to Alexandria 3 months ago. I love living in Virginia, except one horrible experience from the dealer shop, which is Lexus of Alexandria. I love my car, that's the reason I'm doing regular check up whenever it is time to the maintenance. On Saturday, 1/23/2010, I visited the service center, and asked them to 85,000 miles check up. After they looked into my car, they suggested change the front brake pads and grinding the routers for preventing handle shaking. As usual, I accepted and asked them what the total of the price is. They answered first $520 for total. But they provided me with 10% discount for the service, and invoiced me about $450. At that moment, I didn't have any doubt to pay the price. After finishing the service, I just wondered if I did get overcharged. So, I asked my old dealer shop, which was Lexus of Rockville. Surprisingly, they answered $415 without the discount. What the heck!!?? Therefore, I simply called Lexus of Alexandria to discount the price with $400, because I felt bad and I needed recovery from mental and financial pain. I tried a couple of calls, but they didn't give me a call right away. Almost the end of the day, I got a phone call from the service manager. His voice was a kind of grumpy and asked, "What is your problem?" He sounded like, "I'm ready to fight with you". I asked the price down, because the service price was overcharged. Unfortunately, he argue with my price, and denied. He said that he called Lexus of Rockville, and he got the original price, which was $520. I couldn't believe him, because I clearly heard from one of the service guys from Lexus of Rockville. He pointed out that the service will be $415, including taxes. :( By the way, comparing with Lexus of Rockville, Lexus of Alexandria's customer waiting area was simply bad and clouded. The manager insisted that their service and environment with excellent and 99% customer satisfied. The waiting area was small and inconvenient. Chairs were cheap plastic chairs, except two or three were leather chairs. Waiting area was a kind of kids' playground. Tiny space. The manager also mentioned that free soda, coffees, and etc. Oh my God... Lexus of Rockville has much variety of choices, and way better than Lexus of Alexandria. (For example, bagels and bananas in the morning, dedicated person also serving you!) I can say, the price was Lexus, and the price of customer service was Toyota level. What a shame!! I do NOT recommend this service center at all. My suggestion is that if you living in Washington D.C. area, go to Lexus of Rockville around the beltway. You will clearly see what the difference and how high the quality of the service. I don't mind if I got at least a better service. They simply the money what the price is shown. That is NOT a service. Service is a customer satisfaction. Therefore, I'm NOT going to the service center again, and I don't mind to drive my dealer shop, which is Lexus of Rockville. Lexus of Alexandria will be hard to survive unless they recognize how important the customers reputation. Customers are King! Thanks for reviewing my comments. Joon More

I once had a 9am appointment, scheduled weeks in advance. Two hours later when I asked how things were going, I was told they hadn't even taken my car into the garage yet. Maybe it's because my Lexus is old, but every time I go I get bad service, and bad attitudes, and they always seem to 'forget' my complimentary car wash. If the shop wasn't part of the dealership, they would have been out of business a long time ago. Bunch of crooks. More
Bought a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) 2008 RX400h. When I ran a Carfax report it showed some entries that I asked the Sales Manager (Ace) to explain, which he did. He showed me the entries in the computer a ran a Carfax report it showed some entries that I asked the Sales Manager (Ace) to explain, which he did. He showed me the entries in the computer all of which were explained as minor. Ok, so I bought the car and the first day, the fog lights didn't work. And I thought to myself, this is a CPO, shouldn't that have been taken care of? OK, no biggie. Fast forward to our new economy and I decided to get out from under a high car payment and decided to go to Carmax to either sell or trade the Lexus in. (This was in July 2009, I bought the car in November 2008) They appraised my car at Carmax and valued it at $28,000.00. I had looked on line and it should have been worth $38,000.00 which was more than I owed. The explanation was that the car had substantial frame repairs made to it. Meaning, they welded a new rear quarter panel on to the car and re-painted it. This car should NEVER been CPO since it had so much damage. I went immediately over to the Lexus dealer and spoke to Ace. Before I could explain anything, he took a real negative stance, became belligerent, hostile, defensive, and down right rude. (Just to let you know, I am in the customer service business and know how to talk to people to get them to respond the way you want them to, so I was calm, non-accusatory, polite, etc.) Within 5 minutes though, he offered me $35,000.00 to take back my car. I was stunned when this happened and was not prepared for that response. I told him however, that I wanted to get ALL my money back. He left the room and came back with another $1500.00 which I refused. The end of the story is that I talked to the Sales Manager (Ace's boss) and we worked out a deal where I got what I owed which is all I would have gotten from Carmax in the first place, and I bought a used Highlander from them at wholesale which made up the difference from what I actually put down originally on the RX. To me, this dealership did step up to the plate but should not have certified the car in the first place. I likely wont shop there again nor do I recommend any of my friends to shop there. More

High Pressure and bait and switch is what I experienced. When I complained all I got was alot of double talk. Buyer beware of these vultures. When I complained all I got was alot of double talk. Buyer beware of these vultures. More
They refused to respond to specific questions I asked about their service department and warranty information. Generally, they were very uninformed, rude, and uncooperative. I'll find a kinder, gen about their service department and warranty information. Generally, they were very uninformed, rude, and uncooperative. I'll find a kinder, gentler dealership from which to purchase a Lexus....or maybe I'll find them all as rude as Lindsay! Kathleen More
Bought a used 2002 IS300 under warranty and took it to Lindsay lexus to have them check it out and do a state inspection. For $99 they said they'd do a bumper to bumper inspection and replace whatever tha Lindsay lexus to have them check it out and do a state inspection. For $99 they said they'd do a bumper to bumper inspection and replace whatever that was covered under warranty. They did the inspection and found the brakes would not pass state but still gave a passed inspection sticker. Other than that they said there was moisture under the headlight which required me to bring it back for them to replace. I took it to a friend to put new brake pads on and he found that two shocks were ruptured, filter and cabin filter were very dirty which meant to me that Linday Lexus did not even open the hood or check the car out properly under the "bumper to bumper" inspection that I paid for. I took it back to them and they replaced the shocks and motor mount. They broke the arm that holds up the hood and put a piece of tape around it, probably expecting that I would never find it. Had to take it back again. They have been very unprofessional. You really don't get what you pay or good service. More
