I've been trying to purchase a new vehicle for roughly three weeks. I've been using Truecar as a good baseline of what to expect to pay. After submitting my information through Truecar I got back several three weeks. I've been using Truecar as a good baseline of what to expect to pay. After submitting my information through Truecar I got back several offers from Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Great Falls. I called the dealership to confirm the offers and begin the process of buying the car. I was originally told by the sales rep that Truecar comes up with those offer prices and they weren't valid. I disagreed and the sales rep said he would talk to the GM and call me back. Ten minutes later I get a call back saying that the prices on Truecar aren't accurate because the dealership didn't update their numbers accordingly to reflect the current chip shortage. I had no intention to haggle. I really thought this would be a very easy sale for both parties but between the copious amounts of misinformation followed by the refusal to even attempt to stick to the offered price or they're advertised price on Truecar (which the dealership sets) I'll have to keep shopping around. More
