Arrived and was immediately registered with Mike at the Service Desk. I was also afforded a shuttle ride into town to complete an errand and was picked up promptly by Steve the shuttle driver. The shuttle vehicle was clean and well maintained. Upon returning to the Service center, Mike presented me with my service documentation including an estimate for my upcoming 90,000 mile service. He explained in detail what had been completed during the service and what would entail for the upcoming 90,000 mile service. All the staff at Lithia were professional in their duties and I was appreciated for their friendly and competent service. More

In Dec (2011), I stopped at our local Lithia Chrysler dealer here in Eureka & test drove the car of my dreams, the fully-loaded 300S, with Sam Miranda who touted himself to be the head of the sales perso dealer here in Eureka & test drove the car of my dreams, the fully-loaded 300S, with Sam Miranda who touted himself to be the head of the sales personnel. Loved the car and told him I might want to purchase one in the dark grey within a week. He told me that there were very few of these cars available and showed me how few were available online, none with my specifications at the time. He tried to sell me the black 300S that I had test driven, but it wasn't what I wanted. He couldn't quote me a price until Monday for the car I wanted (I was in there on a Saturday) & said he would call me at noonish on Monday. I called his cell phone twice later that day to ask specific questions...he answered my first call, but when I called back with another question he told me that he was with other people & would get right back to me No problem with that, of course he could call me back...but in fact he NEVER returned that call on Saturday, nor did he call me back on Monday with the price and availability. Needless to say I was dumbfounded. On Tuesday I called the Lithia dealer in Redding, three hours away. They were extremely nice and very professional...and within half an hour they had found just the car I wanted. I picked it up on Thursday driving 6 hrs round trip, but it was worth the drive! At 3,000 miles we had the oil changed, along with having the air bag light malfunctioning. I waited for the car for almost 4 hrs with no update at any time. In his defense Larry the service manager had to leave to attend a funeral, but nobody offered me a ride home, an update on the repair, etc. When the manager returned, he apologized, waived the charge for the oil change & promised to have the paper work sent to my house immediately, which I have never received. Today,(2/23/2012)I had the pleasure of doing business with Lithia Dodge Service Department. I originally went there to purchase a Pcv Valve for my Caravan. While I was purchasing the part, I asked if the with Lithia Dodge Service Department. I originally went there to purchase a Pcv Valve for my Caravan. While I was purchasing the part, I asked if there was anyone that could put it in for me. I was directed to Mr. Matlock. I informed him what the part was and that it was making my van run like crap. After a moment he said, "Let me see your keys and wait right here." I watched a man I didn't know walk to my van, get in and drive it around the building. At first I was a little concerned, but I told myself "If he breaks it, he buys it." He came back into the building a few minutes later and told me, "that the van in fact did run like crap, but it was gonna be fixed. My first thought was "Oh great, this is gonna cost an arm and a leg." Considering that I was at the dealership and not a 3rd rate Mechanics. Mr. Matlock told me that the part may or may not fix the problem and if I wanted to spend a few bucks to be sure?" He then informed me that a "few" bucks would be $20-$35. I told him I had a budget of about a hundred dollars and he said "after we figured out what was wrong we would go from there." Well to make a Long story not so long,When I walked in there I knew there was a possibility that I could walk out not knowing anything and nothing being fixed, back to square one per se' but he made time in their already busy schedule to fit in my vehicle around those that were already scheduled. Through the process of elimination it was determined that one of my spark plug wires was not connected all the way, which was causing a misfire. They fixed the problem and replaced the fouled spark plug. All in all we were there about 4 hours. In which Mr. Matlock was sure to keep an ear out if we needed anything, and took me to my van twice to grab some things out to keep my son entertained. So I wanted to thank you Mr. Matlock for all that you (and the mechanic) did to make sure my van was running its best. (It now runs better than the day I bought it used, 3 years ago from another dealership) I know you didn't have to have the mechanic look at it. . But you went above and beyond to see that I walked out of there satisfied, not only with the fact my van was fixed, but also with the service I recieved. (and under my budget too, MAJOR plus there) After I made it home I realized I had misplaced an information sheet Mr. Matlock had given me, so I emailed him to request another one. He soon called me and let me know that it was on its way. More
We thought it is a good idea to share with you, the unbelievable service we received at Lithia Dodge in Eureka. What should have been a simple warranty repair of the turbo on our Dodge Ram 3500 truck, unbelievable service we received at Lithia Dodge in Eureka. What should have been a simple warranty repair of the turbo on our Dodge Ram 3500 truck, turned into a complete nightmare. We own our own small company and thought you would be interested in the business practices of one of your dealerships. Lithia Dodge 4320 Broadway Eureka, CA 95503 Service Manager: Robert Matlock 707-268-1512 • Our truck had a 21 inspection at Autowest Dodge in Roseville at 58,917 miles. • September 23, 2011, on our way to Eureka, the truck experienced a problem with the turbo, 569 miles after the last inspection. • The truck was towed to Lithia Dodge. • The turbo and engine are under warranty until 9/30/2011. • We received a phone call from the service department notifying us, that a rag had been sucked into the turbo and obviously not be covered under the warranty. • We could not understand how a rag could have possibly entered the system since it was last inspected. • We were given a phone quote for the replacement of the turbo and told the part would be ordered. • We were later notified, after they replaced the turbo and when they started the engine, it “ran away” until it blew out the freeze plugs, right there in their service department. Now we need a new engine. • We have learned, after discussing the matter with several diesel truck mechanics, that failing to drain the inner cooler prior to starting the engine will result in a “runaway”, as a result of the oil from the inner cooler entering the engine. The engine goes to maximum RPM and it only stops when it blows up. There is no way to shut it off. • Lithia Dodge certainly failed to follow proper procedures in the replacement of the turbo resulting in an engine “runaway” and then engine failure. • Lithia Dodge has failed to be honest in admitting the error in the turbo replacement, resulting in the engine failure. • We do not feel it is likely that Autowest Dodge left a rag in the air cleaner when they inspected it at 58,917 miles. If they had, it is not likely a rag would remain in the air cleaner for the next 569 miles. Originally we had thought it was possible for Autowest Dodge to accidently leave a rag in the system. However, after discussing the matter with several diesel mechanics, it does not seem the least bit possible. • It is our opinion, the Lithia Dodge’s mechanic accidently sucked a rag into the turbo while diagnosing the problem and is not admitting fault. This is our opinion, partly because, Lithia Dodge did not admit fault in their obvious error that caused the engine to “runaway” and blow up. • It appears the repairs necessary may lead to a total loss. From what we understand, at a minimum, the repairs would include the turbo, the engine, catalytic converter, radiator, and exhaust. • Lithia Dodge charged us $2697.09 to replace the turbo and subsequently blow up the engine. • Lithia Dodge in Eureka basically destroyed our truck and refused to take any responsibility. This bill was satisfied in order to get them to release the truck for investigation. We believe Lithia Dodge is under the assumption, this is a closed matter. • We were unable to resolve the matter with the dealership and felt like we were at a dead end. We have turned the matter over to others to handle. More
