Never Trusting AGAIN I am at a loss for words. I came in for break issues and the service department had my car for three hours. They told me I needed to replace my rear b I am at a loss for words. I came in for break issues and the service department had my car for three hours. They told me I needed to replace my rear brake drum and shoes, which would have cost me $637.00. It states on the paperwork that they removed the drum and inspected the break shoes. I took my vehicle to another reputable shop for a second opinion (gave them the same rundown I gave Lithia on what was going on) and they told me that it was just debris in the drum & all it needed was to be cleaned out--for a whopping $62.50. My car now no longer shudders/skids to a stop or emits a loud screeching sound! After my disbelief that it could be something so simple, I told them that I took the car to Lithia and they said I needed a replacement of my rear brakes. The shop then disclosed that there was zero evidence that anyone had even opened up the drum to inspect it. I am so disheartened by my experience that Lithia Toyota's service department wouldn't do their job thoroughly and I don't feel like I can trust them to touch my car again. I am a very loyal Lithia customer and from this experience I don't even want to come back to do my regular oil change maintenance that I've trusted them to do for YEARS! More
