A Comfortable Place to Buy a Vehicle For the past 8 months, I had periodically been following the listings of various used and new trucks and SUV's on Lithia Toyota's website. On October For the past 8 months, I had periodically been following the listings of various used and new trucks and SUV's on Lithia Toyota's website. On October 8th I dropped by to check out a 2016 Tacoma with a factory tow package installed. The initial salesperson involved was Armando Ledesma, a very knowledgeable guy, who understood my priorities immediately, provided answers to all my questions, took me for a test drive and agreed to meet later that day to pursue a deal. Later, after meeting with Armando and the sales manager, my wife and I met with Skylar Reagan, a salesperson we had met 8 months ago and he very comfortably worked out a deal with us that involved the purchase of the Tacoma and a very generous trade-in amount on our 2014 Sienna. Afterwards we met with Cate MacPherson, a skilled financial officer, who ran us through the paper work and helped us choose a couple warranty extras. This one-day experience at the Lithia Toyota facility in Medford was amazingly stress free as compared to other car buying expeditions we have experienced in the past. All staff at the dealership were polite, and low-key, Through their words and actions they made it clear that we were the respected customers in this interaction and that the quality of their products and service would sell us one of their vehicles, not any extended aggressive marketing/wheeling-dealing approach. Take your problem somewhere else!! I had my check engine light come on 2 times with a "temp sensor warning" on my 2017 Tundra. The 1st 2 times were 6 months to a year ago...the represe I had my check engine light come on 2 times with a "temp sensor warning" on my 2017 Tundra. The 1st 2 times were 6 months to a year ago...the representative just cleared the code and said don't worry about it. I was given a piece of scratch paper with the number and name of the code in case it were to come on again. The check engine light recently came on a 3rd time so I walked into the Service Dept. and asked them to actually research the problem. When I explained and handed the representative my scratch paper that I was given previously...he thanked me for giving it to him because there was nothing in the system regarding my previous 2 issues with the same problem. I found this odd because I was under the assumption that ALL services/maintenance were documented for this very reason. The Service Representative walked out to my truck, lifted the hood and returned. He stated that my coolant reservoir had minimal fluid in it and that it could have been overlooked at my last servicing but they would look into that as well. I was told that my Tundra would get looked at "today", they would diagnose the issue and I would have it back by close of business. 330pm that afternoon rolled around and I hadn't heard a word so I attempted to call the number they provided me with. I tried calling 6 times - 10 minutes apart and couldn't get anyone to pick up a phone. I left a message on the last attempt. At approximately 5pm, the Service Representative called me back apologizing for the wait and that they couldn't find anything and the techs needed to run another hour of tests in the morning. I agreed to leave my truck overnight so the problem would be fixed. Next morning I received a call around 930am and the Service Representative stated they ran all the tests and couldn't duplicate the problem. Furthermore, I was questioned if my Tundra had been to a body shop because there is evidence that it had and it might not be a warranted fix as the sensor was in the same area. I stated "NO" as my truck had never been in any type of accident. The Service Representative again stated that he knew that work had been performed and I realized that perhaps he was referring to my bumpers being removed so they could b Line-X'd so I explained this. Again he stated that due to this "bodywork" if the problem comes back it might not be covered under warranty. I then explained that the previous 2 times regarding this issue were before my bumpers were ever taken off and that it wasn't my fault that it wasn't documented in their system. He stated that he doesn't know what happened previously and he could only look at what he sees in the system. He stated that my truck was ready to be picked up as there was nothing more they could do. Upon arrival to pick up my truck, I waited in line for over 30 minutes to get my keys. The Service Representative reiterated what was previously explained and had me sign the paperwork. We were walking towards my truck which was parked around the building and I inquired about the fluid level that was low. He stated that the system was checked, nothing was found and that the tech must've missed it during the last servicing. My thought process was thinking, don't they have a checklist?, but I let it go as I was beyond upset and didn't want to cause a scene. The Service Representative didn't even walk me to my truck. He handed me the keys and stated that its parked in the lot around the corner. Great Customer Service!!! I have a lifetime oil contract for my Tundra but don't even know if I will be taking it back to Lithia. We have purchased 4 vehicles from this company and it won't happen again. My business will be taken to another dealer. More
