We apologize for this situation and understand the customer's position. We also appreciate the customer for taking the time to complete the review. We never like having to inform a customer that additional repairs must be made to correct a situation. However, sometimes the technician finds additional concerns with a vehicle after the initial one is resolved. This is what happened in this situation. After speaking with the customer today we have offered to perform the second repair at no charge as a goodwill gesture. We truly appreciate our Sales and Service customers and are grateful to be given the opportunity to help them with their vehicle needs.

Sir, you continue to state that my windshield was broken when I bought my car in. IT WAS NOT BROKEN, and I will not keep excepting the statement that it was broken when it came in! The right thing I feel that your service person should not have worked on the vehicle if the windshield was broken in the first place without notifying me. I was in the waiting area for 2 hours and about 15 minutes. That in my opinion would have been the proper thing to do. I have been in the customer service business for 38 years and different situations require different actions. That would have been the proper action to have taken. Let my husband and I know FIRST. I will not give a positive response until this matter is settled 100%. Sorry it had to result to this. You also stated your service person had been with the company for 2+ years. Well AMATEURS make MISTAKES also. NO ONE IS PERFECT Sir!

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this situation. We have since offered to split the cost of the windshield with the customer even though we feel we were not responsible for the crack. The cost of a new windshield is approximately $275. We feel this is a fair offer given the condition of the windshield and the prior damage. On 8/12/15 the customer brought her 2003 Accord to Albany Honda for a recall on the windshield wiper motors. When the technician started the repairs he noticed the front windshield had a small 6 inch crack in the lower driver's side corner; he also pointed it out to another one of our technicians and noted the damage on his paperwork. After he completed the repairs the customer said we cracked the windshield and called the Police to file a report. The reporting police officer looked at the source of the crack and, in his opinion, concluded that the crack was caused by previous damage to the windshield and did not happen that day. He made this conclusion because there was no fresh evidence of an impact or damage to the windshield. He completed his report without assigning any blame to the dealership. In addition, the windshield had previous scratches and imperfections due to faulty wiper rods which we did replace on that day for a charge of $24.61. The windshield wipers are now operating normally. The customer stated in a subsequent phone call that she has not driven the vehicle for months and it has been sitting in her front yard. We truly feel that the damage was caused by something prior to her visit to the dealership and the technician did not cause the crack. Nonetheless, in an attempt to resolve the situation we are offering to split the cost of the windshield. Thank you much for processing this response.
