after having an oil change done, the service writer told me that my battery was at about 15%. since it's only about 4 years old, i was more than a little skeptical and declined buying a new battery. on my me that my battery was at about 15%. since it's only about 4 years old, i was more than a little skeptical and declined buying a new battery. on my way home, i stopped by a parts store and had the battery checked and it tested as good. after a close look at my receipt, i noticed that it said that the battery was good. do service writers make extra money by selling things? i really don't appreciate the attempted scam. I scheduled a 9:00 am oil change for a Mustang and didn't get finished until noon. 3 hours for an oil change with an appointment seemed ridiculous. I was also quoted $3000-$4000 to have a trailer brake c get finished until noon. 3 hours for an oil change with an appointment seemed ridiculous. I was also quoted $3000-$4000 to have a trailer brake controller installed on a 2021 Ranger, even after I pulled up a quote from their dealership on the Ford Accessories website that showed the controller and installation at $415, she argued with me and said it was for a different controller. The one I pulled up says right on it that it is the only one approved by Ford. Thats a pretty big difference and made me think she didn't know what she was talking about. The tech was great though when the car finally got to him. More
