With all due respect, I don't know that I would say that my buying experience was a great one from Low Book Sales. Although I MIGHT recommend your dealership to others, I would caution them by telling them my buying experience was a great one from Low Book Sales. Although I MIGHT recommend your dealership to others, I would caution them by telling them of my own troubles. Not once was the $1500.00 extended warranty explained to me by the two sales people selling me the vehicle I purchased. It was explained to me by the finance manager. But only after I asked. When I expressed that all four tires on the truck did not match, it was just laughed off. When I pushed the issue, it only seemed to annoy the finance manager. All cars should have the same set of matching tires. If not, there could be balance issues, alignment issues, tread wear issues, etc. When I expressed I was being charged for a CD player in my vehicle when there wasn't one, the finance manager gave a reason that the cost was necessary to offset the finance charge from the bank and blah, blah, blah. Yet I still have no CD player in the vehicle and I'm being charged for something I do not have. It was also explained to me that my situation was a "special case" and that things had to be done to get me into the car based on my credit history. In a sense, I've been made to feel guilty and having to accept such conditions because of my poor credit. It's almost like your dealership is acting like it's doing me a huge favor when we all know that just isn't the case. I know that I accepted the terms and agreed to get screwed. So that is completely my fault in poor decision making. But if your dealership is going to rake me over the coals, I expect to be able to sound off about such treatment and issues. But what really angers me deeply is the fact that I sit here with no vehicle. I sat through all this crap only to bring the vehicle BACK because the brake lights DID NOT work. Never in my time of buying a new or used car have I EVER felt so uneasy about a vehicle purchase. And now I feel even worse because I know in my gut that I've just been screwed. I'm fully aware of my poor credit rating. I've been working on that for a good, long while now. But I don't need some car salesperson(s) or dealership making me feel the way I felt at Low Book Sales today. Your dealership, along with the millions just like it across the United States, are making A LOT of money off of people like me with predatory lending tactics. I can accept this. I signed the deal. And I appreciate the time and consideration that goes into shifting numbers and stretching the truth to make things happen. But if you're going to put the squeeze on me, I expect to be able to do it back. I should not have to worry that the vehicle I have purchased is not up to par. Yet there it sits still on your lot with something more than just a burned out bulb. But I would like to stress this... and please pay close attention to this part... The service manager, Melissa Beau, was very nice and friendly. She even recommended (due to safety concerns) that I keep the vehicle at your service shop until the problem be rectified. I think she was just as frustrated as I that something like that (non-working brake lights) had been overlooked. She even led me out to my vehicle because I had left my paperwork for the vehicle in it. While we were out at the vehicle, a nice young man had informed us both that the part he needed to fix the issue had just arrived. Sadly, it didn't work. And even more interesting was the fact that all THREE light bulbs for the brake lights were burned out. Clearly this vehicle has an electrical issue that doesn't relate to the switch, the fuse or the bulbs. That could be a really bad sign. But I remain optimistic and I'm trying to be happy about my vehicle purchase. But I have to be perfectly honest... I'm not. I'm giving your dealership the benefit of the doubt and I'm hoping that there will be no further issues and that any present issues will be rectified in a timely fashion. Granted, I do have that extended warranty that I HAD to get in order for your bank to finance my loan. Which is silly because I know that Prime Acceptance is owned by Low Book Sales. This is essentially a type of "buy here, pay here" kind of deal. And that's great. But I have to say that I've had nothing but problems with car dealers in my time. And this was even back when I had great credit. Overall (and not being biased because of my previous issues with car dealerships) my time at Low Book Sales was good. The deal went far more quickly than any other car sale I've been involved in. The mood within the dealership was nice and friendly. My questions were answered without hesitation. Even if it seemed to annoy some. Most everyone I encountered at your Salt Lake dealership was courteous and helpful. Several times I was asked if I wanted anything to drink and if I was "doing alright" while I waited. The one thing that stands out the most to me with your dealership (and this happened at your dealership when I visited it two years ago) is that it is the ONLY dealership to EVER comment on the fact that it could see I had been paying off bad debt and complimented me on that very fact. If I may make a suggestion, do this with every customer when it applies. People love getting positive reinforcement. And when it comes to working on paying off debt, that is a big thing. I came back to Low Book Sales for two reasons: 1:) My friend Tim had just purchased a car through your Lindon location and suggested that maybe I give Low Book Sales another try. My first experience at Low Book Sales didn't turn out the best due to my credit. 2:) My first experience at Low Book Sales didn't result in a car. But it did result in the car salesperson commending me on my trying to pay off my bad debt and that he could see that through my credit report he had pulled. Because of his genuine comment, it stuck with me. And I told myself that when I was in a better place financially to buy a car, Low Book Sales would be my first stop. This long-winded review here is not meant to be accusatory or attacking in any way. It is not me trying to be an unpleasant, demanding ass, either. I'm trying to stress to you that I was expecting a bit more and got a bit less. I am not my credit rating. Sincerely, Michael R. Millen www.mikethejanitor.com More
I was very pleased with the overall effort of the salesman to get me into my car. However, after the sale of the vehile, I wam and am still very displeased with the length of time iot has taken to de salesman to get me into my car. However, after the sale of the vehile, I wam and am still very displeased with the length of time iot has taken to deliver my vehicle to me. It was promised to me yesterday afternoon, then yesterday evening, and then "sometime today". Buying a car is a huge purchase, and while the sales team was extremely professional, I feel that now that they sold the car, the ball has been dropped. I am extremely disappointed that I have not yet received my vehicle. More
First off, people need to understand that its NOT the dealer's fault if the bank won't finance you. When I first when into Low Book I expected to buy some 1000-2000 dollar car with 500 down. Only aft dealer's fault if the bank won't finance you. When I first when into Low Book I expected to buy some 1000-2000 dollar car with 500 down. Only after talking did I realise that cheap, high miles cars are HARDER to finance, especially for bad credit buyers. Second thing I found out is all of the <$2000 cars have problems, so they aren't going to finance those vehicles. Anyway, after realizing this, I was told it may be easier to finance with bad credit if I bought a car only a few years old with lower miles. They showed me several different models, got my information, and let me test drive them around while they worked out details with the bank. After 3 hours or so of working on it (I have really bad credit) I was finally able to get a loan that worked within my budget for monthly payments, and I got a car way better than whatbi thought I could afford with bad credit. This car will last me long after I've finished paying for it. And by the way, even with bad credit they made sure I was on a loan where I could go to ANY bank after my credit improved so that I could have it refinanced for a better rate. If you have complaints with this dealer its either you don't understand how buying and selling cars works, or you ran into a bad employee who likely will lose his job soon anyway because he turns away customers. I found your business through the internet and the prices allowed me to travel 350 miles to look at your motorhomes (best prices on the internet). A little confusion on the price and what came with the moto allowed me to travel 350 miles to look at your motorhomes (best prices on the internet). A little confusion on the price and what came with the motorhome cause me to rate the experience as a 4. The great part of that question that turns to a 10 is that the owner, David came in and made it right and with his professionalism, sold me a grat car to go with the motorhome and one of the sales persons drove the vehicle to me, again 350 miles one way. In today's market, everything that is for sale can be shopped online, and the prices were great and the human touch and support makes your business a place I will do my shopping in the future and will recommend your business to others. I had to buy a care quickly, as my old SAAB had it. Dave was AMAZING in terms of his friendliness, helpfulness and approach. He was helpful without being high-pressured and encouraging. I am new to the Salt Lake area. This was the only dealer I had contacted. They were very professional and courteous. I found them through an add on craigslist. I was a bit put off that they did not have man I had contacted. They were very professional and courteous. I found them through an add on craigslist. I was a bit put off that they did not have many vehicles that I were in the range I had intended. However. I am extremely happy with my purchase. It was incredibly clean. There were new tires which is always a concern when buying a used vehicle. The quality of the car and the guarantees they have made me are far more than I expected. So far(day 1) I am very pleased with my decision to purchase from this dealer. More
