Buyer be aware you get the payment you agree to!!!!! The reason I can only give one star is due to the difference in the payment I agreed to with the sales manager and the actual payment I ended up with The reason I can only give one star is due to the difference in the payment I agreed to with the sales manager and the actual payment I ended up with when the finance person did the actual numbers. I had picked out a Certified CRV and came in for a scheduled test drive. I was greeted, the car ready and of we went. I asked for an appraisal of my trade and it was done while on the test drive. Appraisal came back way low. I had 2 other appraisals from other dealers the same week so knew what I could expect. Said my thanks and was about to leave. Out comes the sale manager, forgot his name. "What can I do to get you into the car today?" I was still a little hesitant due to the low appraisal, actually a little turned off by it. "Well it's the last day of the month, we can make a lot of things happen" was the next statement. He stated throwing out numbers and asked " if I can work my magic and land on a certain monthly payment would I do the deal". I said yes to a monthly payment, we shook hands and I was happy. Out came a new numbers sheet. Price of car had dropped and $2000 added to my trade in!! So now the wait started to get to the finance guy for the paper work. 1 hour+ passed. Once in his office the monthly payment had gone by $30+. I made him aware of that but he stated there was no way the numbers would match the payment agreed with the sales manager. He changed terms interest rate and showed me his impossible task. Right there and then I should have left and walked away but I didn't which is my own fault. I was possibly worn down by the 3+ hour ordeal it had already been. Maybe that was their plan? That night on reflection I felt a little like I'd been involved in a bait-and-switch so I inquired with the sales person the next morning as to why there was a difference between the agreed payment and why the finance guy had no way of reaching that. The answer was "well the sales manager was working with theoretical numbers". I don't know about you but when you say a number to a customer and shake hands on it that is the number the customer should pay or am I wrong?. So be aware and walk away if it happens to you. Can't think that this has not happened before. Lack of integrity in my mind. More
