My VW Golf broke down on a Sunday. I thought it was a battery issue so I had it towed to my local garage. They diagnosed it as a valve issue and the intercooler was iced up. Both were warranted items so battery issue so I had it towed to my local garage. They diagnosed it as a valve issue and the intercooler was iced up. Both were warranted items so I had it towed to Beookdale where they pronounced the problem as a incorrect fuel in the tank. Based on a flame test they said they performed: I was quoted 6000.00 to repair. I had it towed back to my local garage where they cleaned out the fuel tank and got it running again for under 1000.00. The valve still needed to be replaced as it wasn’t running right. I had it towed up to Brookdale again for the valve and intercooler. My local garage Lancer Service does not believe it had the incorrect fuel and that the hassle involved was unwarranted. They are willing to discuss it with you. I will not be bringing my car back to Brookdale in the future and not recommending sales or service. More
