I brought in my 2009 clubman as the check engine light had come on. I wanted to take it to the experts and have it all fixed up. This is my second Mini so I expected to a pay a premium for dealer qualit had come on. I wanted to take it to the experts and have it all fixed up. This is my second Mini so I expected to a pay a premium for dealer quality work. The service department sent a fancy video diagnostic and recommended roughly 5k worth of work. I agreed and upon completion of the job, after more than 6 weeks, my final invoice showed over 5k due and the recommended work still to be done was... a complete engine replacement. I can’t figure out why it took them 6 weeks and 5000 dollars to determine the engine is bad. If you were not recommending an engine replacement on the initial video diagnostic but only after you complete 5k worth of work, I'm not sure how else to look at it. I feel completely ripped off and scammed. I paid the bill because I don't know what else to do. I was going back and forth with the service director and in the end they gave me 15% off and I still owed a total of 5126.00. It was extremely insulting, and to salt the wound the quote for a new engine was 19K! After almost 2 months I just wanted my car back. I took it to another mechanic who works on BMW/Mini. I showed him the paperwork with the list of work completed and he felt they should have known the engine wouldn't hold pressure sometime before they completed the whole job or better yet before they started. So the way it looks to me is either someone dropped the ball on the initial diagnostic I paid for and they were negligent and loose with the details when they recommended all the work to be done. Or they knew what they were doing and had me pay for $5,000 worth of work on an engine that would need to be replaced. So I paid the 5k and my car is not even safe to drive. More

Our technician Kevin sent us a full Video inspection showing Goodyear’s break job failure. And how to fix it. Pamela quickly pick up the ball while Marcos was off. She was very helpful in breaking down the cost letting us even more details about a huge money saving coupon. And let us know what our total “out the door cost” would actually be. I would give Mini of Ontario A+ Highly recommend! :-) More
