I wish that I could give ZERO STARS. The service department at this dealership is HORRIBLE. I am sharing my recent experience, so that other consumers are not also taken advantage of by this grossly dishonest service department. I needed to get the oil changed and inspection stickers for two vehicles. They were both running fine when we brought them in for these routine services. I also needed to buy two new tires for my truck. I am new to the area and I assumed that an actual car dealership would provide quality services, versus me having to shop around for a new mechanic. BIG MISTAKE.
A very courteous man named Bob kept us informed throughout the oil changes and inspections. He came into the waiting room several times. Long story short. Our 2013 vehicle passed inspection without incident. The oil was changed. His only recommended was for a new air filter "next time." Our 2012 pick up truck needed Brake pads in order to pass inspection. It was toward the end of the business day. We were happy that the mechanic(s) was able to put the new brake pads on and complete the "passed" inspection process. The oil was also changed. Bob stated that he'd order new tires and that they would be able to put them on the very next day! We were so impressed by the courteous, speedy service.
Then, we each drove our cars ONE MILE to our house. The pick up truck suddenly stalled in the driveway and would not restart!!! I called Bob to alert him of this immediate problem, as this same truck was running well and driven into the dealership two hours before! He sent a tow truck and said they would "look at it in the morning." But, that "he couldn't think of anything THEY could have possibly done" during the services performed. Really?
I was notified today at 4:00 pm that my truck was ready. Another long story short...
They charged me another $200.00 to fix my "Mass Air Filter" because it "had dirt on it." The service manager stated that it was just a "co-incidence" and that the problem had nothing to do with the fact that they'd been under my hood all afternoon, the day before. He also basically told me that my business wasn't important enough to them, because they are a dealership, to admit to any wrongdoing. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Macdonald Motors. They are a dishonest establishment with horrendous business practices. Furhtermore, I was unable to submit his review unless I provided my email. Again, Really? Stay away from Macdonald Motors!
