Bad Faith Deal I was in the market for a used pickup and found one that you had and reached out for more information. Shortly after that, Travis contacted me and we I was in the market for a used pickup and found one that you had and reached out for more information. Shortly after that, Travis contacted me and we discussed various items about the truck after which I communicated that I was interested in buying it. I had $18k cash and that is what I offered out the door. He took it to his manager and then came back to me that we had a deal. While that was happening, he had also went out to the truck to look it over and discovered that it had a modified muffler which made it quite loud. He emailed me immediately and also said the tires had about one more years’ worth of tread on them. I was very appreciative of him doing this as I would not have been pleased to come all the way over and find these out for the first time once there. I responded that I could work with the tire situation but not the muffler so he volunteered to take it over in the morning to Midas and see what it would take to get it back to stock again. When the next morning came about, Travis emailed me to tell me his Manager “mis-understood” the deal and he in fact could not do the $18k out the door, and if I wanted to speak to him directly I was welcomed to call. Understand that I had already made arrangements to get the cashier’s check and emailed Travis a copy of my insurance card and driver’s license. I also made arrangements to get a ride over Friday night. To say I was very disappointed and upset would be an understatement. We had a deal but you reneged, it’s that simple and not what I expect from an honest and trustworthy dealership. More
