I'm happy to hear that we were able to get you right in when you got here for service. The first person you spoke with was correct to tell you that you may have a wait, however. We believe in informing our customers to the best of our knowledge and ability, and usually coming in early or at an unscheduled time does result in longer wait times or not being able to get the vehicle serviced, depending on the situation. This is not always the case, but we do like to make customer aware of the possibility of the worst case scenario, so that they can plan accordingly. Hello Mr. Chen, I apologize for the confusion regarding the recent purchase of your Hyundai Ioniq. When purchases are made across state lines, the rules always change depending on each state. In your particular situation, it had to do with the rebate you received. The State of Michigan requires that we charge sales tax on rebates, and your state does not. If you have complaints over how Michigan taxes purchases, that can be addressed with the State Treasury Department. We do not make these rules, we just follow them. As for Doc Fees and Filing Fees, Michigan law has a cap. They allow dealers to charge up to $230 for a doc fee and $24 for a filing fee. This is what the state deems is the right amount to cover all the paperwork filing and fees a dealer incurs processing the sale. Doc Fees and Filing fees are regulated- and they can NEVER be removed from any deal. If you're purchasing a vehicle in Michigan, you're paying a $230 doc fee. The good news is that Michigan caps it. Wyoming, for instance, is not capped. The average documentation fee in Wyoming was $388 (according to the most recent chart I could find). I know we would all love to believe taxes and fees are scam, but unfortunately they are just the nature of buying goods. We would be more than happy to address any further concerns you have.
