Dear Mr. Holland, We regret that we were unable to deliver a Toyota Venza to you as we had the deal worked out before you drove here. My finance director had arranged the structure for the deal which involved $3,000.00 cash down. Due to credit limitations our finance department did an outstanding job securing and printing all necessary paperwork for you to take delivery when you arrived at our dealership. When you were not able to provide the $3,000.00 cash necessary to get you funded through a lender we were unable to deliver you the vehicle. Due to the balance still owed on your trade your $5,000.00 request for that trade still left us over $1,000.00 short on the deal. Our lender was very strict on the structure of the deal. We are sorry that it did not work out and are glad you are driving a Toyota. As far as a carfax report we did not run that report since you were unable to come up with the required down payment. It was the opinion of the management here, that the vehicle had been involved in at least one accident with a possible airbag deployment. As mentioned prior, even at the $5,000.00 for your trade the deal was over $1,000.00 short of our bank requirements. Dry Ridge Toyota Management

Thank you for your response. This confirms that Mike Griese outright lied to me about the carfax then. As he CLEARLY stated that the "carfax" indicated (not one) but FOUR airbag deployments! His "opinion" was wrong. Also, my credit report indicates that you ran my credit through Toyota Financial Services, with whom, Kerry Toyota had no problem financing me at a 6.35% interest rate, and only $500 down. As opposed to your offer of 8% w/ $3000 down. Im not upset at the fact that I couldn't buy your venza, I could understand, if we simply couldn't find a compromise on the deal. I do recognize that $3000 down was a part of the deal. I was under the impression that trade equity was the same as a down payment. I realize that my car wasnt worth the whole amoint owed PLUS $3000. However, i was HOPING that you would compromise and work with me a LITTLE BIT! That being said, what I'm upset about, is the fact that I was blatantly lied too and treated VERY rudely by Mr. Griese.

While I regret that we were unable to come to terms on a deal for you, we worked very hard with our lender to secure financing for you. As stated to you prior to your arrival, this financing required a down payment of $3,000. You drove 3 hours to our establishment WITHOUT this money, therefore we could not sell you an automobile. A lot of scrutiny is placed on dealers for not doing what they say they are going to do. In this instance, the customer did not do what was required, and they have obviously been coached by the selling dealer as to what to say on this website. We strive to achieve 100% customer satisfaction in every deal, as is seen by all of our excellent ratings on this site. It is sad to see that one customer that didn't follow instructions is able to place the blame on us......and speak negatively of us when we did nothing wrong.
