NEVER AGAIN! Bought a Tiguan with about 17k miles on it and purchased an extended warranty. We have had the car for one oil change and tire rotation and are now Bought a Tiguan with about 17k miles on it and purchased an extended warranty. We have had the car for one oil change and tire rotation and are now being told by the service department the vehicle needs 4 new tires and an alignment. Pretty large bill for a vehicle we have driven for a few months. The service department states that this is nothing a warranty would cover and Volkswagen considers this "normal maintenance". There's nothing normal about having to spend over a thousand dollars on tires after purchasing a vehicle a few months ago. This will be the last purchase here! They will claim they do an extensive 161 point inspection... Their "161" point inspection just so happened to also miss a leak in the roof that was flooding the back seat and causing mold.... that must be one heck of an inspection! Thankfully I bought the extended warranty so at least that'll be fixed but I'll still be out easily over $1200 due to their failure to realize the car probably needed an alignment before selling us the vehicle. I was told by their service department "even on a brand new vehicle this is not something that would consider taking care of" More
